But surely audigex, player's settings will affect how something will be profitable and also how a player plays. Also typography has a factor. A weedy engine might be able to hack load five on the flat but up a hill it'll have no chance.

I've updated the first post with pa 0.3. This now includes the early diesels; EE Type 1, Sulzer Type 2, and Sulzer Type 4, as well as the Type 3 and DMU that were already included in pa 0.1. The diesels have been changed to use CC1 instead of CC2 for the early liveries.

Nice job, particulary on the Type 2 and 1, they are very well done.
I presume you will be introducing larger fright cars in the next alpha?
Will you be including the 2-6-4 tank engine in pj1k?

Wow, Pikka! You're fast! I'm loving this set's new features :)
Do you have an example of one of those articulated passenger cars? I've never seen one.
And, since you're making this specifically NARS-compatible, you're encouraging this set to be used in conjunction with NARS, right? I like the 2cc set-esque flags.
Thanks for you increasingly awesome sets,
Jake

Thankyou, yes, and no. :) I think between the Mogul and the Pannier, the large tank's niche is sufficently covered.

Gresley built a lot of articulated sets for the GNR and LNER, from 2 to 5 coach sets, many of which survived into BR service. The original Silver Jubilee consists for the A4 (Streak) were 2+3+2 articulates, but the LNER also used articulates for general passenger and even suburban service.

Here's a photo of the Silver Jubilee
Here's a GNR Suburban Quad set

Yep (well, not encouraging, but it should be possible to use them together without problems or major balancing issues). But as I've said, NARS needs updating for compatibility too. I'll look to release a NARS 2.1 at the same time as the final release of PJ1K.

Well, relatively speaking then. Maybe just "short train, short pax runs", "long train, medium pax runs" or "long train, express pax runs". :-)

The old ones were somewhat useful for telling freight engines from pax, but there's untapped potential there.

I got that hint too, I've been working on additional streamlined pacifics to feature in the addon set, generally going quite well, although the streamlined coronation still needs some work around the front, I'm open to suggestions.

The Coronation still looks a bit like, well, a repainted A4. :) The shape of the real thing is very different.

Very well done pikka, I see what you mean now, I'll get to work on fixing that, I see you used the second CC for the stripes, shall I do the same, originally I've been using yellow/gold.

Got that fixed now, I really should pay more attention to the diagonals in particular. It uses 2cc now like pikka's example.

Edit: made some tweaks, can't believe I forgot to flatten it and never noticed

Aw, will there be UK Diesel and Electrics? I love UKs Diesel and Electrics, like the Class 55 Deltic, the Class 47 (Brush Type 4), and all the other good diesels, and the newer ones too :3

What work? How? and Where? ... Such a vague statement is not good input... Your mentioning of no other tankers is a good point, but please do provide other information (statements, evidence, criticism, etc...) if you really want to help out. Otherwise your one-liners are a pain to read over for other people trying to enjoy Pikka's work.

The capacities are too low, lower then even the UKRS 3.04 wagons, I konw this is suppose to be a new set but such low capacities makes the wagons less useful, and as I said, theres no modern tanker.

Another thing, it seams that after the Sulzer Type 4 there nothing else new, now i know that this is a alpha, but, will there be newer locomotives? Also , why where some of the Commuter MU's and the EuroStar Taken out? Arent they UK trains too?

Build a longer train, or another train. The capacities are far from unplayable. And needless to say, the modern wagons will have a higher capacity/length.

(FWIW, 5-tile coal train with a 2-8-0 and a brakevan; UKRS = 12 mineral wagons = 192 tons. PJ1K = 13 steel opens or 9 bogie hoppers = 180 tons. Not a huge difference).

No, I'm planning to end the set in 1960.
