So what do I need to do to prep it for code? Stick the blue bounding boxes in? Anything else? (-> me exits right to the tutorials)

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Okay, so we have some Heavy Equipment, but how do we move it around?
This would be a 5-part articulated vehicle, inspired by comments in this trams/light rail thread
Load would be classed as goods. It would be moved from factories to anything that accepts goods. I make no promises about how that works with ECS, future industry sets etc - I just think it looks neat!
(With more apologies to Zephryis for pillaging graphics).
Teaser: convoi exceptionelle! A tailback of loaded steel trucks crawls up the highway behind a big green monster, bound for the ore mines. Soon there'll be more raw materials for steel, more traffic, more tailbacks. Ah, progress

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Vote 'Andy's Monster Trucks' as a set name!

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Very nice work and a set I will definitely use once it is complete.
How about the "Heavy Truck Set" or "HTS" as a name. It is short, simple, and gets right to the point. "Heavy Equipment" could be a bit misleading to a new user as it might seem to include more then just trucks - say construction vehicles as an example.

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Question: what's got tracks and tastes great with the Canadian Train Set? Answer: a Nodwell (or three)
What's a Nodwell? Find out here

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
And the obligatory teaser. Back in the oilpatch again, it's freeze up and a brace of Nodwells head up the right-of-way to the rig.
Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Hey that's nice!
Little suggestion:
Could You make passenger one articulated then it would look like something like this, but a little bigger

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
I did read the first post but it was several days ago when the thread first opened for business and I forgot about the people movers. Hmm... then maybe I can amend my name suggestion to the "Heavy Transport Set". I think that would work just as well for the same reasons I stated previously. Keep up the good work.

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Hagglunds are cool, I thought about including them. But my plan already includes something that will make you happy I reckon. An articulated Nodwell is called a Chieftan. These will be featured as upgrades to the Nodwells - for the same cargoes including passengers. I'm also going to redraw the passenger Nodwell more like this one with a 24 person crew body - it will look better and be more useful:ISA wrote:Hey that's nice!

Re: NewGRF set proposal: Special Vehicles (Heavy Equipment?)
Just an update of the tracking table. I've added all the Foremost vehicles in case you decide to draw the others Andy. I've also added a few missing stats and web links to all the vehicles. But still no Paling Transporter. I've sent them an e-mail asking for stats, but I'm not very hopeful. Ah well
