Growing in size? Not noticeable, I would say. I do like the the variety though.

For those of you that have failed the challenge, you need to watch this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1uNjLJU-oc

(it is a section of Geneva steel being blown up after closing)

another interesting video is US Steel's promo video from Geneva Steel http://www.webcastgroup.com/webcast/win ... &nl=&r=&i=

perhaps.. it might be a reality......

I threatened that the next "Save Geneva Steel" update might force you to take goods only to Salt Lake City. Picture that the factory only made "Transfer Goods" and that there was a terminal in LC that took those goods?...

Maybe I need to draw it out for You.....

yeah, it is just sitting on a McDonald's parking lot for now.

the base plate is not done yet. i need to make the station to go with it first to make the base. that way everything lines up.

all I can say is OMG WOW - DUDE you Rock -OMG no way is this Locomotion.

Plastik - Man I'm just blown away by what you do. There are some great modelers around here but you just add so much. The new sounds are so great. I can not believe how great it is.

I just finaly got my Loc back up and running, for some reason when I tried to install the new update I keep getting an error when I tried to run the scenario. So reinstalled and have been playing almost none stop since I get all your stuff back in. Except for some sleep last night and work today I have been tring to save Geneva. At this point I can say I should save her barring any melt downs on my part. 14 year left and 50% done. Looks like I'm completing it at about 5% to 6% a year.

Wow, great great stuff man.

Not a problem man..
as far as the issues. ..i am finding that in a few random cases, if you have other road or tracks that not default installed., there is a slight chance you will have to many bridges or stations installed.

the LoMo map making tool is handy for this, it zips up your objdata folder and replaces it with the default objects. then you can install the map and get your old stuff back when done.

I should point out a lot of people added sounds for this pack. lets not forget Justin Cornell and Zimmlock. I don't believe robinH has any sounds "in use" in this pack but a few of his sounds are stuck in the map due to early beta's. Lets not forget Chip over at Dekosoft, his 3D trains are the star of the scenario.

you guys also put up with countless beta's. that takes a lot from you. including dealing with things i might have broken in your game.

PS. there is an update for this map. it is minor, yet major.

1.minor: I wanted to fix the US buildings that are coded with the wrong "height". AKA, you can't bridge over them. (not yet done)
2.major: You cant edit save games of this map with locomod. there is a bugged line of code in the locomod program that sees the Dekosoft trains wrong. (I have that update done)

3.annoying: if you load up a save game from a previous version (pre 1.0.2), Your coal and ore trains may pop off the track when they load or unload for the first time after you restart. they may also be to long for your stations after this. this is due to increasing the size of the hoppers 20%. You have to just watch your trains if you are updating from an older version

I reattempted this map again about a week ago, and finished it this time, with about 10 years to spare :o

you know what they say, third time lucky :) I also only transported iron, coal, steel and goods this time.

I have downloaded the pack from ami, and tried to install it, but when I'm trying to install the train packs or bonus pack, it always says it can't find the exe. Am I doing something wrong?

Interesting..

You are doing it right.

There are only 2 reasons that happens.

1. they are not there.
2 you have some sort of security software preventing a call to an exe. (have not had one stop me yet tho).
UAC can be a possible issue but it is usually a different error (it just eats the installer process).

What O/S are you running?

you can check to see if the launchers are there manually. go to your locomotion install folder (usually c:\program files\Atari\locomotion\) and look in the \Chicago-Locomotive_works\Objects folder. You should see the launch codes.. i did not say launch codes.. i said umm.. "launch files" there.

Dekosoft_UP_Pack_Transfer_Utility.exe
Dekosoft_Bonus_Pack_Transfer_Utility.exe
Scenario_Provo_Transfer_Utility.exe
Dekosoft_BN_Pack_Transfer_Utility.exe (if installed)

go ahead and launch them manually.

also, If you could PM me the "Dekosoft_UP_install_log.txt" from the \Locomotion\Chicago_Locomotive_Works\logs folder. I can take a look at what happened.

EDIT: problem solved. user overlooked a vital step in the install.

I was playing the scenario last night, and well, it was amazing! I never had so much fun playing locomotion. I started playing around 6:30 pm and I didn't stop till past one in the morning. No other scenario has entertained me so much.

And Plastikman, I'm a big Will Wright fan, I noticed it as soon as I saw it, and you know what I'm talkin' about...
