Which would mean it would be visually incompatible with every other set ;)

 Whoa
don't make this too complicated!
since i'd like this to be a full replacement ( :D  Toyland, Anyone  :D ), i don't see scale as too much of a problem as long as we keep this in the limits
(sees future of redrawing track sprites with actual ballast  (my biggest TT dream)

Oh, the wonderful world of Windows.

The command you are attempting to execute there is "My". If that's not the executable you intended to invoke, wrap the entire name of the executable (but not any additional parameters) in double-quotes:

Code: Select all

C:\WINDOWS>"My documents\MSTS Stuff\TTnv\grfcodec.exe"

Is your folder "My documents" really located in C:\WINDOWS? I can't remember that to be true in any Windows version.

First, find out the complete path of your My documents folder. As an example, let's say it's C:\Documents and settings\Username\My documents.

Open the command prompt and type

Code: Select all

cd "C:\Documents and settings\Username\My documents\MSTS Stuff\TTnv"
and press Enter. This command changes the current working directory from C:\WINDOWS to the path you entered containing grfcodec.exe.
Now you can run grfcodec without adding a path to the executable name. If you want to decode trg1r.grf, just type the following:

Code: Select all

grfcodec.exe -p 2 trg1r.grf
and press enter.

Using Total Comander as athanasios suggested has helped
Can we have a metro in this paint scheme

You're creating the set so I don't see why not.

I know pretty much nothing about drawing and programming new graphics but I do know you need to be organised about it, especially on the scale you are planning.
You propose to replace all town buildings, develop a station set and new trains yet you have no tracking table to speak of and the graphics produced so far look plain compared to what else is already available.
I hope to be proved wrong.

Could it be a lot of empty promises, and we come away with nothing? for i agree.

Badger: I do have a tracking table for most trains
TycoonMarkJ: thats NOT the spirt i'm looking for. i do what i can when i can, and when you read this i should be in the progress of making an up to date tracking table and/or drawing more metros (made a list of them all on paper, 23 left to draw, plus 1 to finish.)

yes, but when i look at this, i think that maybe you've taken on a bit too much, you should have started with the trains, then the stations, and finally the buildings, because, basically your sets are going to replace up to approx. 70% of the whole of TTDPatch's GRF's,which is a LOT!
i was just trying to warn you, before you crash and burn, sheesh...
