thanks for the compliment :D

But what you're mean is that all my buildings need more shading?
I thought about that before, but I need to practise that, because all my tries to make buildings look better with more shading failed.
I don't exactly know why but if I tried to let them look better they only look like (...)

I think you need too add some more texturing, it just looks a bit flat now.

I made a new building that replaces the office block but it needs lots of texturing.
If someone wants to do that i would be very happy.

some suggestion
George, what you did with my sky city was pretty imressive!
That was a good job!
You did it very fast too, did you use some kind of program or something to do that?
Beacause if you did, i would like to know what that is, it would save me a lot of work.
If i do that with the sky city, it would take me a whole day.

It took some time but the job is done.
Here is my best version of Tokyo's Sky City.
It's also my first 2X2 building that worked in the game.
It replaces the stadium.

But but I know that we have the ability to make new buildings in the game.
My question is: How can i do that?
Because if you click on the building with the landscape information cursor, is says "stadium" and not "Tokyo's Sky City", what i really want.

Something between three and nine of those pages are relevant; I'm not linking to all of them.

I only hope I got the dimensions right it supose to be 2x2 squares.
And I got to fix the colors on the roof too.
(from 1st page)

Ahh, but you didn't do it all by your self. The sphere was drawn by Zimmlock for a building in the Japanese Building Set set. You merely recoloured it, then added the awful looking lower floors.

Also, I reckon many of your earth movers are facsimiles of Zimmlock's work.

If you use work of another artist, ask, and then give credit.

It replaces 2 buildings.
one is a Skyscraper and the other is a casino with flashing lights and a limo (or something that looks like it :P ) in the front.
The tower is copied from Michael Blunck's Messe Tower (http://www.ewetel.net/~michael.blunck/ttd/wk.png).

And if that's not the worst thing, the original by MB looks even more interesting...

edit:
@RSpeedtycoonfreak: And your "Best and first working" version of the tokyo sky city tower has some problems with a trees growing out of a street  (resp. trees that are hidden by a street that should be flat on the ground but now look like a wall or something...)

I noticed that myself.

I drewed that tower some time ago when i wasn't able to make grf files.
In that time I drewed about 60 png files and my best ones are here or at my site.
When i was able to make grf files i just picked my best out the map where i had all the png files in, and put them into the game to practise making grf files.
But everything I drewed after that tower and michael blunck's tower I drewed copletely by myself.
So you wont find ANY other copied stuff from me at this topic anymore.

I removed the trees and it should work perfectly now.

You should remove the .grf files for the work that is not yours, ask permission to use the graphics of the original artists, and if it is granted, repost the .grf files.

But the bigger question for me is why you said that it was work you drew all on your own when it clearly wasn't the case?

Thanks  but can someone tell me if there is any program to add some texturing?
Because I'm very bad in doing that.

LordOfThePigs wrote:I like your buildings, but I think they look a too smooth. Check the original buildings to see how the wall all seem to have some kind of texture whereas yours are perfectly smooth. I personally think you best try at skycity was the bottom 3 pictures in "sky_city_5th_try_393.png"
This was not his try, that was my suggestion. But it was ignored :(

2RSpeed tycoonfreak:
Not only me, but also LordOfThePigs and I suppose some other people think, that building require more texture. The simple "noise" texture can be added easily and looks not bad. It can added in photoshop

I agree with George on the texturing, as I've told you before.
Maybe you could expand the building so it coveres all the tiles so we don't have to see that (IMHO) stupid road that doesn't fit its surroundings.

But if i will use photoshop to add texturing, will it be possible to get it in the game then?
I mean That I'm not sure if photoshop will use the right colours from the TTD pallete

Photoshop is powerful, so why shouldn't it be able to handle 8 bit images? ;) Just convert it to the right palette after applying the filter.

Try to finish everything you have started before you start on something new, if you don't do it like this you will have a lot of unfinished buildings and no one will use them because they're not finished.
