ok, what i've found so far, this is a lot harder than i thought it would be :S

for surface stock (met, circle):
max speed: 60mph (with 2+ cars)
power: ?
weight per motor car: 32t + 3t with full load
weight per trailer car: 22t + 3t with full load
passenger capacity per car:
met:178
circle: 212
(no, im NOT joking! no wonder i always feel squashed during rush hour :S )

for deep lines stock (northern):
max speed: 70mph (with 2+ cars)
power: ?
weight per motor car: 32t + 3t with full load
weight per trailer car: 22t + 3t with full load
passenger capacity per car: 152 (no, again im NOT joking!)

a few stats are missing, i'll try and find them asap

and btw i have realised i have made some rather big errors with the graphics, so i'll let you know when i've uploaded the finished versions

edit: ok met is finished (i think lol), circle + northern coming soon, need sleep!

The capacities in TTD are not realistic - I wouldn't go above 40 to 50pax per car, for game balance.

Indeed. And even then, thats pushing it. To offset the difference between long distance and short distance coaching stock, I will give the long distance coaches a higher capacity (45 passengers), but a slower loading rate. On the other hand, the suburban/local coaches (30 passengers) will load very fast.

I shamelessly nicked that idea from Michael and our discussions about the DB Set, so he should get the credit :P.

looking better csuke!

But im afraid unless i create passenger cars for each of the trains then they all need to have a similar capacity ofr the wagons.. the engines capacity can vary, but not the wagons :)

ok then i'll leave the capacities up to your own judgement

and if possible make the loading times about half as long as normal passenger coaches, as they dont sit in stations for very long at all

oh and a couple of other stats i missed:
climate: temperate only
vehicle ID's: if possible can you give them following vehicle ID's:
met front: 11
circle front: 6
northern front: 12
and for all the passenger cars: 27
(these are not the hex codes)

i'll probly find you on irc first so i can make sure i've got those right

this will let it work with the UKRS set im currently using

Or, learn to code - that would certainly make you popular in any set!

[balancing long-distance vs. local]

Well, that was sooo long ago that it could well be that this had been your idea in the first place, possibly. 8)

BTW, how´s your email server?

Michael

Well, it appears those LU trains I drew are being coded.... (those are mine, aren't they?)

Anyway, sorry, but I have been very busy, but soon I should be able to collect some sprites. Am I correct in assuming that we only need the ones after the 0.3 version came out?

as far as im aware all the LU trains posted in this thread are drawn by me. I am thinking about releasing a full LU set, with as many possible variations of different liveries/lines, so if you wouldn't mind i'd like to see what you have already drawn so we can get an idea on what is still needed, and then we can release a final set together :)

Actually, it's probably a A or C-stock tube train, which I have drawn, and am including for refrence purposes.

EDIT:: Now what happened to the middle doors?

Disregard that, I'll have the real ones soon.

Wow, and I thought I was being a pain when I started my set for fun.

ok lws1984 would you be interested in starting up a LU set then?

I've got some webspace i can use for a tracking table

i dont think lack of vehicle ID's should be too much of a problem with this set, as there aren't masses of different trains

i'll get a list drawn up of what i think should be included, then we can work from there?

Well, I realize this is semi-OT, but... all the LU vehicles in the BRSet tracking table have been drawn by me, except for the Metrovic. Also, I have some others drawn for the former TfL set, including:
38 tube stock*
59 tube stock
92 tube stock
95/96 tube stock*
A/C subsurface stock*
D (original and refurb) stock
Waterloo and City 92 stock
