Those large screenshots are awesome. It's a pity everything looks so small in the actual game. Or does 32bit supposed to support higher zoom levels as well?

the 32bpp in itself wont support higher zoom levels, Though this is an improvement planned for the newgfx engine in the future.
Making the game 32bpp and redoing all gfx in 32bpp to the current scale is the first step in a long road towards that newgfx engine

the new gfx engine is going to support 2x larger zoom level so the larger screenshot is kinda ingame shot
Ok now here's my Tem2 Diesel shunter
Availibility: 1960-1990
HP: 1200
Speed: 100km/h
Total weight: 116t
a pic in real life:

i know that there are a lot of small diferences between actual Tem2 and lego one but there are no parts to fix them

I got news for you.
From this time when you post a train post all info needed for it ingame like speed, name, cost, etc.
Wouldn't it be better if one person made up the statistics as a whole, so the gameplay will become better. IMO, we don't need a 100km/h diesel in 1950 if we have a 140 km/h steamer in 1940, for example. I think it's better if one or two people would make up the stats themselves.
If you have already posted models please edit those posts or repost all your trains in one post with the required info.
Post shoul be like this:
A pic of a train(lego model).
ok
A pic of one in real life if it exists.
Info.
Do you prefer real-life models or just made up ones (I think we should make the last ones, let our fantasy go

)
And one more request:
I need somebody to create and manage a web site.
So if you are interested in doing that website post a message in this tread.
I might be interested in doing some design, if you would like?

Yes we would, there's the case of higher power or tractive effort

It's just an example. IMO the standard set of vehicles in TT was perfect.

small question, if this is for 32bpp, are you taking tri-remapable company colours into account?
Posted: 18 Jul 2005 09:30
by Purno
Don't know, but the colors from lego models can be pretty easily changed, AFAIK.
Anyways, here's some cargo wagon:

And another cargo wagon. This one can transport things like wood, grain, coal, sand and ore.

i think a wiki page should be started with a table containing these fields (wiki page just for this project under the comand of killer 11
Example Image
Name
Cargo
Modeled by
model
lighting/colours
final renders
source file
game GFX
date updated.
of course whatever fields are needed can be put in.
i think its a great project and should be treated as a project. the better documented things are the easier they are to handle.
killer 11 get someone to create a wiki page in the GFX development area, treat is as a place of focused development attention, use it standardly so people get good documentation habits.
killer 11 if lighting setups can be done in povray it will by far be easier to do it in there. since the lego GFX will not be used on normal climates (i would think) the lighting need not be exactly the same. (unless you think it should be)
if you need to ask me questions about what we have already worked on and found standard for then feel free to ask me, email, PM, or MSN (all addys are easy to find)
the more you know the better you can co-ordinate the block set....

All the models I make a fantasy models, they don't really exist. I think that's the great thing of this set.

what you making them in?

bobingabout wrote:what you making them in?
I design them in MLCAD, and render them in LPUB / POVRAY, or something. It's pretty complicated actually... I just copied the whole folder from my brother, so don't ask me how to install
I made some more, a tanker. One for Oil or something and one for the toylandisch Cola

Just go
http://www.ldraw.org and follow the getting started tutorial. They have an installer with everything you need to get started and a nice tutorial to get things rolling.
