Lighting setup seems a bit weird. The bricks seem to have kinda like textures, while real bricks are plain...

Indeed, it looks weird. I used the lightning setup for buildings, which I found from the wiki.

I'm no expert with blender, so even if I tried I probably wouldn't make better lightning setup...so if someone else wants to try...the .obj-files are available for you.

I think you should recalculate your normals. Select the model and press Ctrl + N.

I think that Smooth is better for BrickLand. When you use Smooth, the model doesnt look so big. Small things dont have sharp edges, when you look at them from such a small distance.
The renders look a bit weird, but CTRL-N, Subdivide + SubSurf and maybe Bevel should fix it.

I thought the point was that these things would have sharp edges and look all bumpy and lego-like?

I'm back! (yay!). I've been doing quite A LOT of LEGO related work onf MLCAD (eg mooonbase) and i wondered:
1. Is this gonna have a mars edition?
and 2. Could we incorporate moonbase into this? (like make buildings out of it?)
Thats all for now. Im gonna build a few more more models. just post what you need.
That's all!
Ah forget it. I'll come back now.

Me thinks this has died. A good idea but none of the gfx support. A shame too.

Then do some work on it, in stead of telling others to work.

If only stuff from Lego Digital Designer could be used it would be so much easier ( i'm not sure what type of file it saves as)

EDIT: It seems they're some kind of format for uploading to their oline gallery
