I still have no update about my fathers railway, but he has placed the order for the trains at the local trainshop. I think he spend over 1000 euros.. .

I made a photo of his first basic set, but its on another pc right now. I will post some more when I have more to post .

Im just letting know that Im still thinking about it.

Hey Guys, had to dig this thread out, because finally after years of painstaking drawing i presnt to you, a track plan for my railway. Obviously it is not to scale or in anyway a decent picture.

I used to work at Bekonscot Model Village. (Just off J2 of the M40 in the UK if anyone is interested). It opened to the public in 1929 and has been around ever since.

Gauge 1, but the track is actually Gauge G. No one seems to notice that the trains are 1:32 scale, but all the buildings that surround them are 1:12.

There also have a 7.25" railway that opened in August 2003 and runs a weekends and school holidays. That was why I started working there when they needed "responsible" drivers to operate the railway!

What is a rather cool feature is that part of the Gauge 1 system can be operated by hand with a leaver frame, while the rest of it is left to a computer. (Or you can leave the whole think to a computer but wheres the fun in that!)

Well I did have a model railway in the loft, OO guage but since we moved it's never been rebuilt, I might do that at some point, Dad reckons I have about 400m of track!

Rebuild it!

You'd be better off getting Trainz 2006, as it's the same game, and you can still build model railways same as the older Trainz games, only this one is so much more detailed and powerful.

I've got TRS2006, as does marcf and some other users, and it's really fantastic. The amount of custom UK content you can download for it should satisfy anyone. Fortunatly, there is a heap of Aussie (specifically Victorian, NSW and QLD) stuff there too...

I have an 80+ square foot model railroad (Somewhere between 80 and 90 square feet) in my apartment living room. It's HO scale, minimum curve radius of 22". I run a lot of antique equipment on it, like old Varney, Globe, Ulrich, and Mantua models. I have a lot of Varney made before WWII, and quite a bit of paper and wood models. Even a few die-cast 1950s vintage trains.

Recently, though, I've been building two rosters- exact scale stuff, which is my newer cars, like Branchline company, Proto2000, Atlas, and such, and my 'Heritage Fleet' of old vintage trains, like I described.

The railway is under heavy construction right now, and I may build an extention to it soon, depending what I do with my computer desk. It used to run around all the walls of my living room, with a lift out bridge in the middle, but now it runs along two walls only. I may rebuild one of the legs.

I'm currently without a layout but ive got one i'm working on at the moment, its a public model layout with over 30 trains which all run under control of a computer system. the hall where the layout is displayed is about 30 x 50 meters.

Ive got a lot of models myself, most of them are ofcourse dutch bit ive got some german models too.

ill upload some pics of my trains later on, got to rescale them first.

Umm, yeah. You're right.
I brought it (unfortunately) and my computer runs it so slowly its not even fun. Wasted £8
