Oh, OK. I didn't see that was a little off. But I spend about 30 minutes adjusting it to that. When you'll finish your refinery I can code it too.

Great train. Add some textures, and then you can say it's finished. :)

Door bars look a bit thick and stand proud a bit too far; from memory I think they are only 1" tubing.

Other than that, PERFECT! I can just hear the breakdowns clanking... they weren't nicknamed "Duffs" for nothing. :)

lordazamath: Really like the bank. The colour balance looks good, and I really like the roof texture and general design of it. Overall it's great.

Now I noticed one more thing about the bank. Glass of windows are made like a mirror. Everything that is in side the bank is the thing that is outside the bank. You could make some tables in it.

hello, i've just learnt how to use blender and im pretty happy with what i can do, i can wait to get started on making objects for the game, but most of the objects have been reserved but they were last updated 2 years ago, is it acceptable if i start making my own version of the sprite?

Basically yes. Although if your concerned, then stating here what you are going to work on will mean that if the work is outdated but still available (i.e. the artists are around or there work is released), people can tell you before you start.

Although there is nothing stopping you from making your own versions of what is already made, but due to the large amount of work required I'd suggest sticking to 'yet to be done' things for the moment.

Looks good enough to rival FaceGen. What'd you use?

There created in photoshop rather than from anything 3d. Actually it was the first time I think a wacom tablet has seriously made creating things easier, usually you can get away with a mouse for most things. One thing I noticed is that when converting things from male to female, you can change a lot of features such as the hair, but until you change the top lip and the some bits of the eyes it will just look like a male cross dressing. It's almost disturbing that you can change how your mind sees something so much by altering so little.

Dang, so no easy way to make pretty faces, eh? Shame, I was looking for a good way to make realistic faces for my remake of the Dune boardgame.

Also, does anyone have Skype and/or WLM and is willing to teach me how to put sprites in-game? I'd be really really grateful and (optionally) you'll get lots of good manlovin' from me.

Ben_Robbins_ wrote:peter1138: hmm, yeah. Removed. (annoying that windows keeps sticking it back everytime I go up to the folder it's in.)
There is a solution to stop those annoying "thumbs.db" files. Two actually.
a) Instead of viewing the folder as "Thumbnails" change to something else, like icons (as someone else suggested).

Or, if you like the thumbnails option:

b) In any folder go to the "tools" option in the menu, then select "Folder Options".
Click the "View" tab. One of the options says "Do not cache thumbnails".
Check that and it shouldn't create the thumbs.db file any more (though you'll still have to delete the old ones - run a windows search for the file and delete all that are found).

Hope that helps.

On the matter of your faces - they're very nice. 4,D does look a bit... weird though. I think the "Comb-overs" on C,2 and D1 are funny. ;-)

So, I'm beginning to get a hold of this now and will hopefully be a bit more productive in the near future. I'm planning to complete the mine I'm working on, but as an "exercise" I gave the Steel Mill a shot. I know that some great looking Steel Mills already have been made, so I don't know if this will be of any use, but anyway, here it is:

By the way, I placed an omni light inside the Mill as seen on the one with Area Shadows. Does anyone have a clue why it turns green when I turn on ray tracing?

Some nice texturing there, especially on the metallic silo-like tower. Not sure about the green omni light though. The orange glow looks nice though, makes you want to put your head round the corner and see what's going on!

Moriarty/others: Cheers for the help. I need thumbnails when working with sprites, and when I tell windows to hide the .db file it insists on telling me it's hidden every time I select-all. Therefore no clicks are saved, and I really just need to remember to filter out the .db files. (If I turn them off it doesn't update the thumbnail images which is a pain when duplicating then editing.

Actually, where are all those finished Steel Mills you're writing of? In the Wiki, Iron Ore Mine and Steel Mill are both "Unclaimed"... (i know, maybe it's outdated).

This looks very neat, I'm actually curious if it couldn't be 8bpp'ed and included into George's ECS Vector replacing the rather sad looking current one

edit: I just noticed I didn't even comment back when you posted the 32bpp faces; They are absolutely awesome like the others also said :D I never really cared about the manager faces because they were so hilarious anyways, but with these almost realistic looking faces, I might really have fun customizing my manager face and indentify myself with it :) Great work!

I love those faces, just cant get them to show up in game :( I did as I do with other 32bpp graphics, but they just dont work for me... (0.6.b3) Any ideas as to why they dont show up? Other stuff, like power plant show up just fine for me...

Anyway, what a load of VERY GOOD graphics there are in this thread, I can hardly wait to see more of it finnished so I can put it in my game! Thanks to each and everyone!! :D

Edit: Oh, those faces only work for a special version of the game it seems... Any chance someone could make em work for 'all of us' 8)

Well, Trond, heres a prezzie for you.

Ben Robbins, I'm not sure if you can help but I'm having a little problem.

If I try to include the mask files they end up a bit odd. I cant describe it too well, but you can take a gander at the glitched file below. I'm afraid I dont know whats going on. I might have time for a look at it again later.

EDIT: I'll attach a picture so you can see better what I mean without having to download the tar

Yes, but I know there were other guys working with Steel Mills... Maybe they never got completed, I don't know. I
