Coming soon: improved purchase and running costs for HEQS
I never got around to setting costs when I released the grf, everything is way too cheap. This will change soon. Enjoy low-cost dump trucks while you can

Your user guide available via page 1 is fine except for one thing ... It needs descriptions of the available trailers. Add those and then it will be excellent. Until then it is merely acceptable.

I am working on something to do with metal products (*not* mined ore). FIRS has steel, aluminium and scrap metal. I'm supporting those.
What other metal products exist in other sets?
Let me know and I'll try my best to support them...

This is a test grf with a couple of new vehicles to try. If these are ok, there'll be a new release soon.
- heqs.grf
- (536.07 KiB) Downloaded 126 times
New vehicles are:
- Grindelwald Foundry Transporter (55t, available 1972)
- Kander Foundry Transport (95t, available 1967)
These haul Steel by default. If FIRS is present, they will refit to Aluminium and Scrap Metal.
If suitably encouraged, I might add support for other metal cargos, for example, PBI Copper
cheers,
Andy

Hi!
I tested these new vehicles.
First observation is, this set does not working with German road vehicle set

Second observation is the Grinderwald fountry transporter looks like a white box on the buy menu, I think if the platform would be a bit darker, it looks like more a flatbed truck with a cabin. Or the cabin would be fully company colured, the platform can stay in white.
Otherwise excellent work! Nice drawings, and a good idea! I don't even think about in-factory trucks...

Most impressive. Keep on juggling all those projects and we will keep on benefiting from them all. Thanks again for all of your tireless work.

Thanks for your hard work. I really love having "Real" Dump Trucks in my game over a Pickup Truck or a Euro Style Truck with a Hopper Trailer. Also the logging truck and tractors are nice too. I hope you can eventually get some BANDIT stuff going

Nope, not just this, eGRVTS has this problem too with firs, if it was after 1970's and the wood went to a paper mill then you could just pretend that your delivering wood chips in a hopper. As for sending wood to a saw mill I prefer a flat bed truck to transport logs.

Hardly. Industry sets only tell which cargos are produced and accepted where. The cargos are well-defined and vehicle sets decide how to treat
cargos, either individually or based on their so-called cargo class. If I want I can write a vehicle newgrf which allows refitting the long-distance coach to transport passangers, uranium ore and milk but nothing else.
The easy approach though is to allow certain cargo classes (bulk, piece goods, liquid,...), exclude other cargo classes and then allow and / or dissallow some specific cargos additionally to that general cargo class treatment. For example an ore hopper would allow cargo class bulk, but disallow passengers, valuables, express, liquid, hazardous, armoured, refrigerated and piece goods. It might or might not disallow cargos which require shelter. If I allow cargo which requires cover, I might exclude e.g. grain as it is a wagon only suitable for cement (which must not get into touch with water), but not for food stuff. It can be quite tricky to get it right for all possible newgrf combinations and cargos at the same time.
