Wacki: You did your magic again!
And yes, when plastering you cannot do it all at once. It takes days. And you usually do square areas (unless you are an amateur like me - I am plastering some parts of my house and repairing cracks these days), exactly as in your sprite and unlike Ben_Robbins_ example. I am sure you went and had a look around to see how they work. Of course in the middle of the job edges of applied plaster can be anywhere. Plaster is applied in two coatings. 1st goes a mixture that contains sand, cement, and lime (so more gray) and after they finish it they apply the thin coating from marble-sand and lime (more white).

I like the new ones. It's a tropical building and the new bricks look more washed-out, which would be expected from all the sun.

How about hanging the scaffolding from the roof (like window cleaners) I know the building is a little short for that to be conventional, but it might work.

It won't fit into the tile anyway... Unless it's vary narrow scaffolding...

Tbh it's not important if there's scaffolding or not - I think it would look neater without

Plus they could always scaffold using a human pyramid...

lord is occupied with 8bpp replacement project. Wolf01 and Slye_Fox are working on brickland climate. They and you two seem to be the most active 32bpp artists recently. Which is great, because you're doing real good job, and a shame, because there are so few of you...

(I do remember, that there are also some other people working on 8bpp replacement, and that they do 32bpp graphics as well, but I did not count them, because of quite diffirent nature of what they're doing.)

indeed, there arent many artists currently around. I was and still am considering to claim a model or two, and, depending on the amount of work it requires, maybe a few more. I have a couple of years experience in 3D studio max, and I could probably either match the lighting setup to create a matched one for 3dsmax or export my products to blender, depending on which formats it handles.

Im just currently very occupied with various projects, thus I prefer to wait until I actually have some time to familiarize with the graphics and get one or two models down as a first. I dont want to dive into it only to drop out later on again - but as mentioned, I might join up and help the progress, since I really like whats being done here :)

Psistorm: there is a 3dsmax variation of the blender light set-up that I made, and it is linked to from the wiki, and it's what I use. Feel free to improve it though. I imagine, and hope, that more people would contribute once a large body of it has been done. Some of the more mundane tasks like grass aren't very appealing for example, while buildings and some vehicles tend to be. Once a certain amount of the graphics have been done, people would be able to model and produce graphics that are final, and fitting with a standard set quite quickly I think.

Personally I haven't been able to make any graphics this week as I'm working pretty long hours, but as of tomorrow morning, I should be able to do some more. I have actually pretty much done the grass stages of growth actually, I'll post them when I have time later.

I have a question:
I try to make tropical tiles for my personal pleasure, when I render it in 3dsmax they look good, but in game look different.
pic1: is screenshot from game.
pic2: is render from 3dsmax, it is 2x2 tiles.

That look more like grass for me. But what's wrong? It looks good and realistic.

The original render gets slightly lighter as you go towards the top right, so when it tiles you get the lining...

ok, long time lurker here so first things first. Thanks to all the work everyone has put into one of my favorite games.

Now a question. I see all of these graphics files that are being made, and I am extremely impressed. My question is this, how do we take what has been done and get them into the game. I am not talking about the graphics that the author has not released, I am talking about stuff that Wacki says is done.

I have done a lot of searching, and cannot find exactly what I am looking for. I am willing to learn how to take the png's and create a tar for the game and give back to the author, but I cannot find an exact tutorial. I am not graphically inclined, but I am somewhat a coder, and would be willing to donate time helping the graphics guys out with that step.

Or am I reading way too much into this and the authors just have not wanted anything released yet?

Would someone be willing to make a step by step tutorial on how to take a completed graphic (say the lighthouse) and create a .tar that can be used by the game? If so, I will work on some of these 32bit or 8bit graphics to help the artists out.

Thanks
