If any one find spelling mistakes or any problems with the work I doing please let me know .. I been coding things now for over a year and haven't sat down and actually played a game properly to check it all. Only been able to do a simple test when I first make them but not a full game test where I can enjoy for hours on end.
Each time I decide to have a break from coding something else happens so not get chance to play .. I was going to have a few days break from it now .. definitely getting the break, but not the way I wanted .. next few days be reloading software and setting up NML again.
Then I will get back into the train sets and check all the locos and pass carriages make sure they right sizes. When I first put the graphics in to the sprites I had I presumed I lined them up properly nd they was right sizes. But now I have access to templates and under stand what I doing better now be able to check them all and make sure they are correct. Was all trial and errors when I first start back in late 2015 as I was only in kindergarten and learning.
Cheers all

I'm up any running again .. still got a few computer issues but will sort those out of coming days ..
I'll relax for a while and enjoy some more editing to the trains sets.
Start checking the steam locos today as I see some of them they either squish up with the tenders or there be a 1 or 2 pixel gap between them and/or the carriages.
When lined them up with the templates the locos and/or tenders needed to be adjusted those few pixels either by shrinking or stretching them.
many of the steam loco graphics were donated to me from DanMack and Coalroads_Artist .. hope they don't mind me making the adjustments to their hard work.
Only done NSW locos so far (as they more important then other States

) .. so for those using NSWTrains and like to update their copy here a copy of the next issue Version 19 of the file. I'll wait till I check or the diesels, Electrics, EMU, DMU and passenger carriages before putting on Bananas.

Changing the graphics to the XPT trains.

- XPT.png (15.06 KiB) Viewed 6024 times
The Red XPT is the new graphics ,, the blue is previous to what players are using at the moment.
When you look at photos of XPT trains and the diagrams I have .. XPT Power Cars are 17350m long .. the passenger carriages are 24200 in length.
So I shortened the Power Cars .. because of this had to make two power cars .. one for front and one for rear. (EDIT: Just discovered I not need two separate power cars .. When first tested the idea .. they not align properly but just overcome that problem)
Will do same for blue XPT.
Also discovering some other trains wrong length in the sprites .. Silver City Comet Power car is 1 pixel to long .. so expect some others will be wrong too.
Cheers all

For those who prefer the AuzTrains.
Here version 19 with Steam Locos for all States updated.
Also has the new graphics to XPT Power cars and Carriages.
If you still find some alignment problems with steam locos please let me know .. I fixed what I could see, but might have missed some.

Started looking at graphics to Passenger Carriages and comparing what I got to data in old railway books.
The BB, FA, FO, BI and a few others were only 50 off feet (15 or so meters) in length.
Other carriages such as HUB Set cars where 67 feet (20 meters) and some other cars as long as 74 feet (22 meters).
All those carriages are size 8 (length: 8;) in the coding.
So in tend to change length of those less then 60 feet to size 7 (length: 7;) just to make the older passenger carriages a bit more realism.

Updated the train sets as follows:
Version 19
~~~~~~~~~~
Fixed graphics and alignment issues with the Steam Locomotives.
Added extra set of Queensland Railways Tilt Trains (as requested by NekoMaster .. copied from 2CC TRains in NML .. much thanks to Transportman for the codes and Voyager One for the graphics)
Changed graphics to all Passenger Carriages and XPT Power Cars. Changed the length to some of the carriages.
Here's the latest files. Will also put on Bananas shortly.
If I had a brain that worked properly I'd be dangerous.
Doing all those graphic changes and I forgot to fix a little bit of coding.
The some Silo and Hopper Wagons .. the sprites showed them a wee bit to long for size 7 when suppose to be size 7 so I adjusted them, but forgot to check coding as they shown as size 8 there.
And again I forgot to fix the Piggyback wagon with the truck .. I had empty wagons with trucks on and full wagons without trucks. These been adjusted. Also had them carrying heaps different cargos. I changed cargos to Goods and Vehicles. This wagon set still in test stage .. I included it for people to have a look at .. still need to make trucks a bit smaller. When I get chance to change the truck sizes hope to have 4 different types.
In process of fixing these issues and hope have update ready later today.
Cheers
Ok .. I fixed those issues .. all looking good.
Made another set of random container wagons .. this will give extra 4 styles for carrying Goods, Fruits and Food type cargos. Gives a container train a lot more varieties of containers.
Watched a container train other week which normally is 1.5 km long (whether the train I saw was its full length not sure, but it was very long) and looked really good all the different containers and colours, so now can have it in game too.
Other 2 trains in pic is Lime and Cement trains. The lighter greys are a new hopper type I made this morning. The other darker grey are converted Wheat (Silo) Wagons.
Coding these is how I discovered the error in the silo, coal and hopper lengths. Which now been fixed.
Problem with these Cement and Lime Wagons I don't have those cargos in my AuzInd Industry sets .. might have to look in to the Industry sets and see if can change some cargos to include Cement and maybe also Lime.
Updated NewGRF files here .. will also put on Bananas.
Starting to make new wagons for the train sets .. yesterday did the Cement and Lime wagons shown above.
Today I had a go at doing Wide Plate Wagons for carrying sheet metal.
If like to see photos of these types of wagons go to Rob O'Regan's website at:
http://www.robx1.net/index/index.htm
Click on New South Wales
Click of Freight Stock
Look up the PMX Wagons.
I also have the plans to this wagon and many others in a book called Freight Vehicles dated January 1979.
Started to have a play with the train sets this morning and realised the Brake-Vans (Service Cars) costs were a wee bit high.
They mainly for show and realism and don't carry much cargo.
So I'm reducing the costs of the purchase and running costs. They not be free but will be a lot cheaper.
So now I happily use Google Drive, 100GB of backup space for $2/mo is quite reasonable. everything stays nicely synced.
I've never used Dropbox, OneDrive or any one line storage .. I believe anything stall on any these online accounts can be accessed by hackers.
I use a trusty DVD to back up on or a USB stick. Jus have to remember to back up more regular.
Was lucky with the hard drive crush it was still accessible using it as a slave so not lose much. Just lost a few files that was on the bad sectors of the drive, but lucky they had been backed up previous.
Now I have 3 hard drives in computer, I back up the files to another drive until enough to fill a DVD then burn them to the DVD.
Cheers
I find dropbox to be just fine, I've yet to have any issues and stuff from 2009-2010 is still in my dropbox.
Last few weeks been out train riding and getting some photos and videos of trains, railway infrastructure and old buildings.
I've added some batwing coal hoppers to the train sets.
You can see some pics of these type of wagons here:
This is my results:
There are several companies hauling coal, but for these wagons I did the Pacific National Logo. In real not all wagons have the company logo on them so I arranged so when you purchase these wagons they will randomly give you some with and some without the logo.
When I get some good photos of other company logos I hope to make some more of these coal wagons with the other logos.
I do not know what year these Batwings become available so I made them available from 1980. The lines I took photos had speed boards of 115 km/h so I given these wagons that speed as well. When I seen them in action, the empty wagons were travelling at a fast speed, possibly 115, but the loaded ones I think only doing about 80 km/h. But I don't know if the game can be coded to have loaded ones go slower, so you will have some fast loaded ones too. They carry 78 tonnes of coal.
EDIT: Just found out after I posted the info above. These Batwing wagons coded NHRH total weight 120 tonnes, Wagons weighst 23 t and carries 97 tones coal, empty speed 100 and loaded speed 60. Entered service in 1994.
Version 23 (revised) of both trainsets included. (Not sure when they be on Bananas)
Made a few more changes to the train sets.
Will release this version No. 24 on Bananas.
Changes made since last release on Bananas are:
Reduced the size of trucks on Piggy Back Wagons. Some will be in company colours and some have there own colours.
Changed coding to Container Wagons so better variety of wagons.
Changed coding to the following DMU sets to remove middle carriages as the don't have middle carriages in real:
600 Class
620 Class (all 3 liveries)
Hunter RailCars
Endeavour
Added: Batwing Coal Wagons that enter service in 1994 .. They weigh 23t and carry a load of 97t of coal.
Altered graphics and sizes to some of the Service Vans.
Improved a few more graphic issues.
Can anyone help me with a code in NML.
The sprites for the Freight Wagons have 4 sets per wagon and can be coded to randomly choose one of those 4.
Can it be coded so when you purchase 1 you end up with all 4?
I looking at the idea of articulated wagons. Many wagons come in sets. In real the Batwing Coal Wagons are in sets of 7, container wagons come is sets of 2, 3, 4 and 5.
They are permanently joined together. The container wagons share bogies. A rack of 5 container wagons only have 6 bogies in total.
So I hoping I can do racks of 4 wagons. Buy 1 get 3 for free.
Cheers
Release version 24 on Bananas .. how come I always find a mistake after I release them.
Just a simple one .. the piggy back wagons with trucks on them .. some of the empties have trucks on them.
Tested 7 Containers trains each with 20 empty wagons and selected Goods as the cargo.
And there are no twins. They might all have the same empty containers, but not loaded in same position on trains.
I did not shunt them .. just purchased the wagons and that is the order they became available.
Seeing if I can do some Articulated Wagons.
These are container articulated wagons in racks (sets) of 5 wagons.
- Container TRains with Articulated Wagons.png (72.31 KiB) Viewed 5595 times
The white labels indicate the end of each set. If look to the left of image see 2 wagons with the labels. The one on right is the end of a rack and the one on left is beginning of another rack.
They are purchased separately and are marked in the purchase list which on to buy 1st, which are the centre wagons and which one to buy last.
- Purchase List.png (11.95 KiB) Viewed 5595 times
Like the other container wagons when empty also randomly have empty containers on them.
Still playing around with the Articulated Container Wagons and also going to redo all the containers.
The containers previously used are only 6 pixels wide yet the wagons are 8 wide. So wherever possible I will widen them.
Yesterday I spent the day riding the rails and taking photos of trains and infrastructure.
This pic is a Articulated Wagons with containers. Can see where two wagons share one bogie and there are 5 wagons in the set total of 6 bogies.
- Articulated Container Wagons.png (50.43 KiB) Viewed 5522 times
I'm working on doing a simular set with new containers I making.
Also getting photos of new locos .. so hope to add these to the games after I get a few more photos so I can do them properly and get colours right.
Cheers
