It would be very nice indeed. to have these in the bridgeset. :)
Anyone, using GRFM, interested in my sorce for the newbridges? Anyone willing to replace a few of the former bridges with these? (you'll need to replace some, since most of the TTD sprites are already used up).

Oh, and Purno, you're forgetting the supports (for higherbridges).

You won't do it? :(

Ehm... I like the ones in the current version, I believe you made them?

Well... maybe I will, if noone volunteers. It'd be better that way, since probably I'm the one to most quickly understand my own code. But I don't feel like coding anymore. :(

Actually I never considered the bridgeset complete. For example the black wire-suspension bridge's supports aren't very nice. Also I always wanted a nice stone or concrete railway viaduct, but never started drawing it :(

Yes, I made the current suppports, and I'm glad, that you like the them. OTOH I'm afraid those will be a bit boring under every single bridge. I had plans to draw some more, for variability, and had also quite a lot of plans to vary the current bridges look, but somehow never came around to do it. Also the sprite sorter problems discouraged me a bit (the supports and trains showing through the bridges).

AIR, at one time there were plans to completely rewrite the bridge-handler and that part of the sprite-sorter, so as to fix all the problems related to bridges at one go. But I guess more interesting things came up and that never took place.

This should be done when newroutes are written and this will aswell mean that bridges get independent from the actually route type, atleast thats the plan...

If new/more work is about to be done on the bridges, it might be a good time to include support for narrow gauge rails.

(And support for US roads). Currently, I'm editing the bridge set graphics to have US roads and if Purno gives permission, I'll be uploading the .GRF here. All the code is intact and the only things changed are the road tiles.

Well, it's ok with me, but wouldn't it be best to combine it with the combined roadset or sth? And the green cantilever bridge is not mine (I believe Rob made it, not sure tho), so you need to ask the orignal author for permission for that one. Besides, perhaps there comes a new version for the bridges... :/

Well... that would depend, on the method you choose to edit the grf.
If you just decode and overdraw the sprites, then recode the grf, then I'm afraid I won't approve that. OTOH if you plan to add the US roads, and plan to code the parameter switching to it as well, then I fully approve it, and would gladly aid you.
In fact I have already posted a png file here. If you only alter the road surfaces, and post the file back to me, I can probably code it in the newbridges grf in an hour. I designed the grf layout in a way, that I can add new roadsets easily. Unfortunately that's not the case with rail bridges, but I promise to work something out on that too.

Also, if someone were to explain me this GRM thingy, what's it for, how does it work, and how do I code it, then I'll finally try to add it to this set, and make it compatible with MB's newstations.

-edit- The green cantilever bridge is the original bridge, I just applied a green recolor. Actually it was a test to see how bridge recolors worked, but I liked it, and since noone complained about it, it remained. Should I remove it? (only the green recolor, the bridge shape will stay)

Would you mind removing both this cantilever bridge (the complete thing) and the golden suspension bridge in it?

I cannot do that. The number of bridges is hardcoded. I simply overwrote the rest, but let those. Since most of the sprites are already used up, it'd be hard to add more bridges.
maybe... well... I'll think on this...

I guess it's best to give you the road surfaces then. A PM has already been sent to you.

Hmm... so you can't replace those bridges by any of the new ones?

Yes, finally! :D Bridges for the US Set. Can't wait.

Updated to support US roadset.
Nothing else yet, though.

Hmm... so ehm... what's the 'best' version to use, this recently updated one, or Hyronymus's combined roadset? :?

Great work, Szappy, the new roads work flawlessly.

And Purno, it just depends on what other bridge/roadsets you're using. I would prefer this version over the CRS because the standalone version of the bridgeset is compatible with Pikkabird's viaduct (so is the CRS, but the normal wooden bridge is shown instead, except with the correct maximum speed), and both this and the viaduct are now compatible with US roads, so...

I use the CRS when I need the new European roads, as opposed to the old one in this set.

You have a picture of that, White Rabbit?
