Congratulations, about one year after the project started, it has been finished. Now that all sprites have been replaced, will 1.0 be released, or will 0.2.0 be released?

Thank you, too everyone who participated in this project..

I have to admit, there was a time where I thought maybe it wouldn't be finished..

But watching it's completion this last weeks made me really happy to be wrong..

Once again thank you very much for this excelent project and now full replacement to the original graphics..

It will be from now on, my default look while playing openttd.. :)

Now all the sprites have been replaced, we now have an independent game! Thanks to all contributors in this project, making players' game experience (including mine) much better. Congrats! And thanks again for the Christmas present!
planetmaker wrote:...And, of course, now the joy of improving existing sprites and bug hunting begins...
May I post some suggestions for improving the graphics now?

I guess it will be 0.2.0.

Of course. You even were allowed to do so before. Just to handle those suggestions had lower priority before we had all sprites replaced ;-) Suggestions for improvements are always welcome.

Thanks to all of you!

I've been using OpenGFX for quite some time. Back then in 1998 or something I bought TTD and *loved* it, but when I discovered OpenTTD some years ago, I had lost my original CD, so I had to download the graphics from some illegal file sharing web site.

Now OpenTTD is finally really open, so there will be no more copyright issues even for younger players who were too young to play the original TT and don't have the CD. :-)

Thank you all for your hard work with OpenGFX!

It will be so much easier to recommend OpenTTD to others when 0.8 is released with an option to install the OpenGFX + OpenSFX packages right in the installer.

Two years ;)

AND THANK YOU ALL WHO CONTINUED THIS PROJECT. Especially thanks to a certain Zeph, BarFoo, planetbaker and all of the other contributors who I didn't write down here (the first ones that came to my mind :D )

Thanks and congratulations to all OpenGFX and OpenSFX artists and developers. OpenGFX has long been my base graphics set of choice. You make OpenTTD so much nicer to look at! :D

Very Nice!
The speed of completing in the last days were amazing!
Now we have to call to distributors to change the info that OpenTTD is really Open!

Perhaps OpenTTD will be in the next releases of Ubuntu without these annoying Pop-Up telling me I'd need the original data's.

Now this is really a nice christmas present!

Although I was involved in the creation of some drawings (but it's really been quite a while since then) - I can just accompany my pre-writers:

Excellent job :D

Not quite, OpenSFX isn't complete as far as I know (or am I behind?), but it is playable entirely legally now. :)

Well, OpenTTD requires a sound set anyway (sample.cat) so you will need some version of OpenSFX.

You can always use empty sample.cat
