yep BA, that's right - the AI engine is extremely complicated and difficult to write - it's still very much in the beta stages too..

Hi, I'm new here, I've been a massive fan of ttd + ttd patch for years now but I only just heard about open ttd so I haven't tried it yet
Thought I'd post a screenie of my current game, it's only using ttd patch cuz like I said, I've not tried open ttd yet.
It's a bit of a mess cuz I've added so many "hack solutions" to my network but my factory station (with factory, sawmill + refinary) is pretty much 100% efficient as far as there's always a train in every platform (Except when a train is moving in/out of course!). I'm transporting roughly 7000-9000 goods out of the station per month so there's also roughly 10,000 goods going into the station but I can't possibly have any more trains, they are already backlogged halfway round the map and I've reached the limit of 240 trains in the game.
My next project? A 15 platform station for goods going in and a seperate 15 platformer for goods going out + longer trains (maybe 7 squares long)...it's gonna take some time and planning to do though! I'm going to try and break the 20,000 goods-per-month barrier!

I believe there is also a topic for ttdpatch game screenshots... this is more intended for real ottd games..
But welcome to the club, start playing ottd quick, you wont regret it!

But first try TTDP! You won't miss the multiplayer. I espescially recomend for ou to play shadows europe map (should also work with OTTD), or the south coutry one that come with TTD. And it loks like you could do with a new graphics set (USset or the DBsetXL are recomended).

NNOOOOOOOOOO!!
Please! *No* *advocacy*.
They are both good games, with similar feature lists, but there are some Patch features that do not exist in Open, and some Open features that do not exist in the Patch.

After having TT for the better part of a decade and being only able to play it by myself against very silly AIs, I would disagree with that statement.

Here is my network from my pocket PC game,
Pic #1 has iron ore coming from the left down to the middle to the station, and another iron ore from the right coming up to the middle station. 1 train for each iron ore atm.
Pic #2 has a station to the far left and another a bit to the right of it, these are both farms and have 6 or 7 trains servicing them. further up the right is the drop of point (notice tunnel) then just right (parralel) is another station that runs to a town that has 2 goods trains.

Slenninghead is a nice little city.
I started a ferry service between them to uae the hovercraft. I added the goods service to Slenni to use canals. I added the train between them because there was too many passengers.

It's the Hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the only 7 stars hotel in the world. (so they claim

)
They have no rooms to let, only suites. These start at the modest price of $ 750 per night.
The building is huge as you can see on this picture. Therefore it doesn't look to bad ingame.
And besides I made an undofile, incase you don't like it.
