Just wanted to know.

Why does the only server that is IS2.0-beta5 have a password? (http://www.openttd.org/en/server/13878)

I would like to play a game of IS5, I just need to find someone to host a server.
Ofcourse, you will say, that I could host the server myself but that wouldnt work because I cannot be attending it 24/7.
Some people seleep you know  .

Were these crashes ever reported? Without bugreports fixing stuff is hard.

Maybe, they just want a private game session without unknown people?

Oh, um. It was obviously autopilot (whatever that is) that was crashing. :?

It wasn't OTTD that was crashing (hooray, I for some reason decided to restart my server) - it was autopilot, or rather ap+. If Ammler or someone who knows about that reads this, there's a crashlog at http://paste.openttd.org/220727 - until then, I might just start it without autopilot running.

I guess it's essential to know the version of autopilot you use (or do you rather use ap+ ?). We currently use ap+ and avignon on our servers - but also there authors need a revision number in order to check.

Problem:
Jonty's server is running, I have NARS 2.03, but the OSX build of IS2b5 doesn't recognise the grf, and when I try to download from BANANAS, it gets to 1.20mb and stops, completely.

Theory:
the OSX build is corrupt.

I tested it with the same game, same server and same IS2 build and had no problems to connect. Neither with missing grfs fetched from bananas nor joining afterwards. The missing NewGRF is also NARS 2.02 and not 2.03.

Uh oh- the server crashed earlier and attempting to reload the emergency save just makes it crash again! :(

EDIT: If it helps things, I think A.H. Transport had just bought out roboboy transport, and then roboboy's train got 'disconnected', whatever that means. I loaded an autosave from 9 days earlier and all seems fine now.

EDIT EDIT: And despite me telling everyone not to, someone just bought roboboy out again. This is definitely what's causing it to crash, as it just did that again too!

I get the following assertion when I click on the "Start Server" button in IS2.1.

Code: Select all

Assertion failed at line 240 of c:\openttd\compile\src\core\smallvec_type.hpp: index < this->items

I'm pretty sure this issue is fixed in r18640. However, IS2.1 is based on r18637 :(

The handling of bankruptcies/takeovers is completely changed in 2.1, it should work fine now.

*comes to attention* Infrastructure sharing version 2.1 is out! I will edit the first post tomorrow, after getting some sleep. :)

Unfortunately, no. It still crashes when clicking on the Start Server button. This time I'm testing r18641 on Linux Ubuntu 9.10.

Since FS3433 now has status 'confirmed', I guess it is safe to assume that this is a trunk issue.

Edited first post, IS2.1 is released. :)

i liked sharing ones but the latest release was bit disspointed because i can't ban or allow companies to run on my tracks its was good feature - for example company 1 only allow buses on my roads so other company allows run trains and bus on my network

The title of the topic is still "Infrastructure sharing 2.0 beta 5" unfortunately. :(

Although nice, the feature required about 60-70k of extra diff size. For this version that is deliberately left out, but it will probably be re-introduced in future versions. For now the feature is not included, so the rest of the code can be tested more thoroughly.
