This month's competition will be based upon the flexibility of a vehicle.
What The Irish put across to me is that he likes seeing vehicles showing their flexibility, so he'd like pictures of trains/cars/whatever showing their flexibility and versatility.
Interesting topic, which I think may be a bit TOO limiting, but we'll see with what people come up with. It might be necessary to open the topic a little wider, but like I say, we'll see.

Hmmm, not sure I fully understand this one, so say I had a picture of an FMU carrying wood, that would count?
I'm struggling to see how I could find shots for this category, except maybe a class 90 hauling a passenger train and in the same shot a class 90 hauling an intermodal? Do they count?

Originally, I was thinking more of the pure physical flexibility, meaning the vehicle coming around a sharp bend or running across some switches, basically, a picture showing how they can deal with such things.
But, the way Dave has put it, we might as well include their flexible usability. Such as a bus which could be used for city and overland transport, or locomotives, doing passenger and freight services...
Looking forward to your entries.

Ah, no I see your point. Need to go and get a picture of a Pendolino coming up Beattock. Not gonna be able to do that by next month. Damn.

No no, we'll start of as you wished, The Irish.
If things are struggling, we'll broaden the definition of "flexibility" a little.
Hope you're all happy with that.

ok, fine for me.
You will just need to keep us updated on the number of entries then.
So for the moment, the former will be what is asked for, so the "physical" flexibility only

I like a challenge, lets see how this goes. I know we've got some bendy trams and some bendy buses I could find...

Right. So my entry for this month is in.
Just to let you know what sort of stuff I would like to see:

Of course, this was not the pic I entered...

Hey Dave,
How are we doing with the entries so far?
Any reason to worry?

Oh - There's reason to worry...

Aaah, yes, but in the positive sense, or so I heard from Dave...

Well entered, but my knees are shaking now
I bet some cheeky person has managed to get a shot of a train climbing a spiral. That'll be a certain vote from me if there is one!

Don't worry, nothing exciting from my camp

I'm very, very busy with the run up to Christmas at university so I'm going to put this month's competition on hold.
Instead, because the time would be more convenient, I am going to host a Christmas Special competition.
Send in your pictures that look particularly Christmassy and we'll have a special competition vote from Christmas Day to New Year's Eve.
Then, on New Year's Day, we'll crack straight back on with the original competition.
Hope this sounds fair.
Hit me with your photos!

You're a jerk.
Only kidding

. I know all about real life getting in the way - been really busy setting up the new store my boss has opened, now we're all stretched between both stores with a whole slew of newbies between us. So yeah, I know what it's like to be crazy busy with not enough time for other things.
About the Christmas photos, well, I'll see what I can do...

Hey Dave,
Is it too late to enter a pic for the Christmas theme competition? I would finally have a shot for it?

Sorry Paul but I've had all of one entry.
So I didn't see the point in running the Christmas competition.
Running this competition is a bit difficult at the minute as it's about an hour of time that I don't really have every few weeks. Watch this space, though.

No worries, Dave, no worries.
I understand the time constraints. I would suggest however to bring the November entries to a close, get the voting and start a fresh one in February then. I'm just eager to see the pictures of the others.
OTOH, we if you send me the pics, I could put them up on flickr, that would be easy enough to do.
