Not yet .. I will be doing some overlap inspection bays so you can have a choice use as just objects pr can add your own real roads.
The entrance and exits are overlap each end so can put a junction and corner under them.
If using own roads first build the road into the inspection station like this.

Then use the overlap entrances and exits so they hide the junction.

For the over laps to work properly I need to design it so the inspection bay is further away from the main road.
Possible need to redesign the entrances and exits for that purpose.

Mount White Heavy Vehicle Inspection Station.
This is what I trying to design the Truck Inspection station from.

There are several lanes and the station is back off the highway. If I can design something similar then should be able to have both a object set and one where actual roads can be used.
These inspection stations are usually on highways and freeways. So the truck be travelling along at 100 hm/h maybe faster and need to be able to move over into the entrance lane of the inspection station before it starts to slow down so that it does not interfere with the flow of other traffic.

Then as this image shows after that truck had slowed down and entered the entrance road it was not required and was instructed to return to the freeway.

So that is my objective, see if I can design something similar to these images. Usually on Thursdays I go train riding but today I stay home and work on this idea.

Thanks pal. The hard part getting the entrances and exit roads right is some countries drive on the wrong side of the road

Might look great but vehicles will just go straight across.
Probably best way make them with the real roads like this and place a object in the middle. Extending the object to cover the green grass might not be easy as there so many road types. But something to ponder on.
For now I keep working on the Heavy Vehicle Inspection Stations. Then if I got time before the month runs out have a look at your idea. Starting in October I be working on my train sets and railway stations as that work is long overdue.

yeah, curved roads would be pretty nice, but i understand that they aren't a priority

I think that since they can't make the tracks into an arch (for trains to run in an arch), it's also impossible to make a roundabout for cars to go around it. Maybe it would work as decoration (more likely), but then there's no point. And finally, GarryG showed how to build something like a roundabout out of a normal road. True, it's not quite a roundabout, but every game has its limits, I guess...

This is where I am up to with the Heavy Vehicle Inspection Stations.
For those who want to be able to let their trucks and buses enter the Inspection Stations. First need to build your real road similar to this.

Still no where near finished. Having problems with the entrance and exit road for the objects as some where I just a few pixel out of alignment with some pieces that I working on.
This image all object pieces and trying to make the entrances and exit roads so can use in a variety of ways. Got a few gaps to fill. Some of those pieces are from the "Fake Roads Lanes" menu.

Your welcome to use any of my work any way you wish. What drawing program your using as maybe some of my templates might be handy for you and others.
Any Moderator reading this .. Like your permission to swear in these forums as just lost 1/2 of drawings in the graphics program I using. I thing the RAM memory in my computer need replacing as past few days now keep running out of memory (computer that is .. not me) then the program crashes. This memory problem one o the reasons I slow doing the roads for the inspection stations.

It not finished but you should be able to use what I done in a game now.
Can now make a variety of Heavy Vehicle Inspection Stations. This image will give you a idea what can be done.

Not exactly freeway related, are you interested in the wide dirt shoulders seen along some rural roads? Some people may park there? Also serves as a deterrent to towns building houses. Something like
this for reference

Not a bad idea
Porbable need to do a few different dirt shoulders to match the Climate your playing. Also have to allow for those countries that drive on wrong side of road
