@Mackensen: that is one of the most nice OTTD screenshots, however I think there is a bit too much rails, you could try merge some lines, remove some signals (signal every square looks bad) and get rid of 90 degrees turnings)

Cool roads

Note: this *IS* openTTD
i like the ped crssings seen in this post. but would leave the rest as is on those roads if you could do that i would like a copy.

Beeblebrox wrote: looks you got the feeling. IMHO try to work on your junctions, try to avoid direct junctions (like X type), and make them more complex.
In addition try to make clearer main lines, as i see you have some lines, like on of the pics there was three lines in the middle, why dont you combine?
please dont take it as an offense, i just try to help.

That area had no planning, it just evolved into the shot you viewed. The junctions are quite busy, so I have little chance of reworking them into something cleaner.
No offense taken.

What I think is ugly is those rail networks that Go EVERYWHERE. Seriously-to me-a properly designed rail network should minimize turns, go in a stright line, and combine multitple routes onto one standard set of tracks. Yes, at some point you will move to a two-by-two divided highway rail system, but there is absolutly no need for the speggitti of rails.

I guess, you hate roads, I hate worthless rail lines.

I think I used the Austrian set of names, just for a change of pace (usually I'll use either English or German). For the save game to load properly you'll need dbsetw, cargosetw, and newshipsw, in that order. And yes, I'm looking to rebuild that junction, and others. The whole system is in need of repair.

My first post to this thread, because i came across something rather amusing.
Playing a multiplayer game with the nightlies that had disasters on. This means UFO's come down and blow up big holes in the ground. Thus if you come back in the morning after leaving the company all night (which is why i have TIM's in 2034 - only just got back into the game), you're bound to have big holes all over your network

This screenshot shows a part of my rail that has been blown up. However some idiot farmer then decided to set up shop right where the old tracks were.
Damn farmers... :)

eidt; added picture - oops :)

Bring all the raw materials to one industrial complex.
Then try to get rid of the goods fast enough
