I must admit, even I agree on this. Id like to have a mix in the set and have total flexibility -however, Sanchimaru wants this set to look like its all one piece, which is a great idea and the problem of having all possibilities in one set means that the set is a MASSIVE load on the sprite numbers. You may only be able to have a few GRFs due to the huge number of sprites taken up by them.

i'm not to sure how it works in TTDP,
in OTTD, i have both the orignal, and the test version running side by side
so, i think i have best of both worlds

I have that too in the patch. They are running side by side, along with other station sets.

I to use them together, and 18 other station GRF's aswell, I know it's to much
but I want to have a large variety in my stations... cause in real life not one station is alike...
I suggest you mix both the sets to one...

Lots op progress here, good
But i would like to place a remark and a suggestion, the remark is that i never have liked the modern container crains, they are to bright of color and the individual beams are to fat. If it was me i would scrap them at once.
Them the suggestion, i like the old style harbourcrane, wouldnt it be nice if you could lay a track under it? then the coal from a ship can be loaded on a train by the crane

Im liking those harbour tiles Zimmlock! Are they arecent creation? I must admit, I often feel the same way about the dock cranes. I can tolerate them on a large harbour but a subtler version would be nice so that they could be used inland etc.

I got bored with the crates in harbour tiles. These new tiles come as a refreshing change. Also the new cranes make it easier to look at tiles just behind them, which were obstructed by the older cranes (as they were more thicker).

I'm apologising again, but I'm afraid I don't have time at the moment to finish coding this set. It doesn't seem fair to just make people wait, or start the coding again, so here's the fully commented source code for what I've done so far (nothing's been changed since the release of version 0.3.2).
The source is split into several files, and is built by running the C preprocessor over the instatr.nfo file (in a similar way to Aegir's makefile). It also uses #defines to make some of the station ids easier to see. The zip file contains a
.git directory so you can see the history, but it's also got the current files checked out so you don't have to use it if you don't want to. The code is released under a
3-clause BSD licence, which basically means you can do anything you like with it as long as you acknowledge the bits that I wrote.
I hope someone feels able to take on the job, and hopefully I can come back and help when I've got more time. I'll be around to answer any questions anyone has though.

Hello all!
I have been away during the summer vacation, but now I'm back.
>ISA: Thanks for the suggestion. The set is still in developement, and I'll see if I can do something for that. There should be a way to keep uniformity and make stations look worn at the same time.
>Zimmlock: The pictures that I used for drawing the cranes featured them in such colors: yellow; red with white parts; and blue. I don't have those pictures anymore, but those were the colors. However, you are right, as ISA said, that they look too bright, and they should be made looking darker, more used and worn.
>Maedhros: It's a pity to see you leaving, please come back anytime

Thank you for having given the set a push and make it come to live!

What's to become of my iron ore hoists (80% complete) and updated magnetic cranes (100% complete)?

Is it me, or are coders disappearing? This set would have been really god, now, with no coder, it seems it will be sent to the 'never completed' pool of GRF's that litter the forums

You know, there's a solution to that -
you could learn to code so you could finish it.
I'll still be able to do some work on it every now and then though, so it's not going to stay unfinished forever. And this way anyone who has the motivation can speed things along.

I'm not that good with really technical stuff!

It's a hobby. Coding isn't easy, I have a lot of respect for people who give up their free time to do stuff like that - seems too much like hard work to me.
As for the whole issue about quitting, it's not a "I won't do this anymore". It's "I can't commit to this anymore." Better to give up the reins to someone with more time, rather than not being able to work on it and leaving it be while everyone wonders. At least it's out there now, rather than other coders passing it by going "it's still in progress".
I thank
Maedhros for his hard work, and for being man enough to admit "hey, I can't do this as fast as I and others would like, so I'm going to pass it on". He's done some fantastic groundwork, and there is clear interest in the set, so another coder will come along, or someone will learn.
No need to be all "end of the world" on us...
