Dumb Suggestions

These sugestions may seem stupid - but they really irritate me: :evil:

1. You cant see pylons on the ramp of the bridge clearly.
2.Is it possible to keep buses\trucks circle around like drunks if there are over three(any no.) buses, etc.. in Q already - prevents the buses from stacking up? :!:
3.Stacked up rvs cannot change their direction. They get stuck for some time. :!:
4.Can the coverage area of an large airport( large staions too) be increased?
5.How can u find out the coverage area of a dock - theres no option to see it?
6.Anyone else wants new double deckers that are faster? -cause i really do!!! ( What i meant was 1 more dd bus)
7.Can u just tell the AI to keep their hands of railways - cause all they do is ruin the landscape, steal away your precoius cargo and never transport them anyway??
8.This is dumber than the rest: Make sets of graphic files(.grf) zipped in to a single folder which u can download and unzip into your TTd folder and straight play the game without all the crap of editing those txt files, creating folders etc..( Maybe a .bat file should do the trick)
9 The TGV isnt as good looking as real life - anyone interested in changing it?
I'd do the graphics myself but i have the creativity and artistic sense of dyslexic jackass!

10. Back to Rob's point ( I dont know how to qoute) - about only the burning towers of refineries accepting oil - Patchman r u listenening - change it so that the whole of each industry building accepts what its supposed to! :!:

[Edit] - :oops: I removed all the insults- but still can points 1,2,3 be checked if they can be implemented

1. When taking over a company have some way of distinguishing what trains/road vehicles/ships/planes are theirs so that they can be changed and their tracks/orders replaced. I have yet to figure out a decent enough way to do this as they tend to get lost in my vehicles. My idea would be to keep the companies colour until you have finished modifying their network then once complete change it to your own colour.
This is sooo easy :)
Buy your competitor for 75%, and press 'Manage'. Then you only get his vehicles/busses etc. Once you're done fixing him, go back to your own company, and buy the remaining 25%.

It's on Josef's endless to-do list.
5.How can u find out the coverage area of a dock - theres no option to see it?
No, and I don't know why.
6.Anyone else wants new double deckers that are faster? -cause i really do!!!
Not necesarily. I like them the way they are. Of course you can change them yourself.
7.Can u just tell the AI to keep their ****ing hands of railways - cause all they do is ruin the landscape, steal away your precoius cargo and never transport them anyway??
They also ruin the landscape with their roads. You can always turn the AI off if you don't like them. :roll:

Maybe a good idea, but not everybody wants the same graphics.

a. Welcome to the boards Centennial_tycoon
b. Could you try swearing a little less :wink: :lol:

Centennial_Tycoon wrote: 5.How can u find out the coverage area of a dock - theres no option to see it?
I personally first select the build station option, make it a 1x2 structure, check out what the acceptance area is, and afterwards build the dock... Not sure if it really works but it has worked so far :roll:

I think we need some posting suggestions guidelines.

First, don't repeat suggestion, don't repeat it over and over again!

I think a form of:
a) What feature do you like in a short sentence
b) why we need it
c) maybe priority if you like
would be good.

Example:

Removing Bridge without the check of Ships
Sometimes ships get stuck under bridges,
you can't send them back and then It would be good if we could remove the bridge.

In case someone contacts Patchman, tell him to open his email.
This guy appears and disappears randomly.

Huh? What kind of problems do you have? My email is open...

I've never disappeared that I know. I've not even become slightly translucent. I'm always 100% there.

Centennial_Tycoon Suggestions

Hi Centennial_Tycoon

It seems the coverage area for a wharf is 1 tile wide. In my new scenario i placed an oil refinery 2 tiles away from the waterway on a road. The new wharf did not accept oil.

Next i used the World Editor to remove road and move oil refinery to waters edge. Now oil is accepted, voila!!

The AI's construction methods are abominable.

My counter is to Save Save Save games. I return to a previous Save, and place rail/road tiles on hillside or valley . AI cannot remove rail/road tiles. Good environment practice eh.

Removing AI's new station in World Editor buys time too.

I too find abuse objectionable. However Centennial-Tycoon did take responcibility and used asterics instead of *&??:!~. and being new to the forum and using words to tell of his frustrations.

This is the Internet afterall.

My suggestion is to use Titles ie. Engineer, Supervisor, Tycoon etc to set limits.

Oh well, that's not my problem :mrgreen:

The refinery only accepts oil on the tiles with the "burning" towers on them.
Try it with a lorrybay. None of the other tiles of the refinnery accepts oil.
The covarage area of the dock is as big as the covarage area of a two-tiled railwaystation.(like Gonewacko already stated)
4 tiles ou of all the parts of the dock in each direction.

I'd like more hotkeys like this:

CTRL + 1 :: Stop/Start all trains.
CRTL + 2 :: Stop/Start all road vehicles.
CRTL + 3 :: Stop/Start all ships.
CRTL + 4 :: Stop/Start all planes.
CRTL + S :: Stop/Start everything.

Usefull if something is about to crash, without using pause (which would be cheating).

Stop all planes?

What if they're flying?

Been there done that , probably the best way but have had the AI stuff around with my company which is a pain in the rear end so to speak.

Yes, we don't like cheating now, do we ?

its not cheating. being able to do stuff while the game is paused is cheating. this is just a MUCH quicker method of going round every vehicle and pressing stop
