It's amazing how much time you can find for drawing once you see your own artwork coded, and in a game.

Great work, this is quite an accomplishment.

That certainly is an impressive piece of art, but I don't think it quite fits the rest of the TT landscape and buildings, TBH.

Maybe not the default stuff, Purno but sets like TTRVS make it work just fine!

hmm, quite contradictory, although it's a different ball part, vehicles and stations. still, odd to hear both comments from one and the same person.

furthermore, i disagree. it fits quite nicely in the original, i think.

Actually, these are two different things. For my trains I have no problems myself (I think they look fine ingame), however, this building looks different (after I thought about it, I think the main problem is that it's so damn huge, compared to TT buildings).

Definitely in the early years this station would look out of place but in the later years, especially with TTRSv3 and its large modern buildings, this station should be right at home. I'm looking forward to trying it out. :D

It is quite high which makes it look a bit out of place. It is nice apart from that though :).

I can allow people to only build it from 1992 (when the plans to build a new Hauptbahnhof were made), 1995 (when initial construction began on the underground tunnels), 2001 (when the SBahn construction began), 2002 (when the main hall was completed), 2005 (when the constuction of the towers began) or 2006 (when the station was officially opened). Note that I might have missed some years here.

Edit: I've completed the plaza :). I'll now begin working on the main part of the station.

That's imho a good idea, but I'm not sure which year would be the best. Maybe Red*Star has an idea. Just a suggestion what about 2000 as a compromise?

Nice to hear you making good progress... :)

The TTRSv3 periods are 1920 to 1950, 1950 to 1980, 1980 to 2010 and 2010 to 2070.
I would suggest 2010 to 2070 for sure with a possibility of the 1980 to 2010 period. Having the station available in 2000 would be a nice compromise and give the player a reasonable amount of game playing time to enjoy it.
Perhaps Zimmlock might have a suggestion for a good time for the station to be available.

2000 sounds round and good, IMHO.

Yeah, huge cities have huge train stations. Look at the original. If you don't call that huge, then I don't know... ;)

(I know, there /are/ bigger ones, but size relations are anyway kinda curious in TTD. Remember the ships...)

Red*Star: I miss the sprites of the platforms and I failed a bit to extract them properly from your mockups. Could you provide me with those sprites? I'll use the default TTD in the mean while.
And I'll look into building dates later today, I tried to figure them out earlier today but it looked quite odd.

It was intended by me that you use the standard ones, as I also wrote in the "prologue". If the standard ones don't fit, then I've done something wrong =)

thats some impressive work done there :D - I shall most definitely use this station in my games.

something related:
the real size of this station is when inside. this thing is a beast. it has an underground set of platforms are about at a right angle towards the elevated ones. between them are like.. five or six storeys of stores, cafes and whatnot.

also, did anyone witness the damage it took during the harsh storm last month? one of the girders on these cornered buildings fell off the topmost row and crashed down onto the stairs below (next to that DB triangular tower), smashing them to pieces. another one was knocked loose and resting loosely upon the girder below it. quite scary considering those girders weigh two tons each and are some 15 feet long :o
Ive walked there on foot once and checked out the place where it came down. when you see these massive things in reallive, its really an impressive and scary sight. even more so considering this station is only a few months old.

Ok, I probably forgot or didn't notice it then, it is a long text to read :P.

Wow. Working really fast, eh? Just an option: Would you feel like doing the whole mordern stations set? Then I would have an motivation to split all my stations down finally. (Currently I've no time for that, but maybe in a month or so.)

Yes, I'm working pretty fast but then I have all day ATM. I will however also start with homework from tomorrow as I have some subjects to catch up with. I hope I can have the entire station coded by thursday, after that I'll begin some cleaning up (I screwed up big time on some parts ;) ) and then I can assign some people to testing the station. This will mean that the station will not be ready to be released before next week so everyone has to wait a little.
And I'll code your other stations too, the other station projects I'm working on are quite idle ATM so I have plenty time now :).
