If you are trying to tell me that you can't create such a sign before the crash, I don't believe you. Try harder.
If you're trying to tell me that you get no content in grfdebug.log, then say that instead.
If you're trying to assert that grfdebug.log will be useless because Patch crashed, consider the concept that I might know what I'm talking about, and give it to me anyway.
If you looked at grfdebug.log, it's non-empty, and you still are convinced that it's useless, give it to me anyway so I'll stop yelling at you.

Sorry, I forgot that I can press pause first. The problem was that I had not enough time to type the cheat text before crash happens. I'll make log as soon as I get home.

And sprite 841 doesn't exist either. How nice.

How did you compute that sprite number? Apparently, George has a lot of .grfs before that .grf in question. Personally, I was unable to figure out that number. :?

@George
What are "ttd-rusw.grf " and "testw.grf"?

Michael

My log parser tells me that it's sprite 841. AFAICT from the documentation, only SPRT lines require the grf being debugged to be the first grf in newgrf[w].cfg.

All the GRFs are enabled. The crash happens even when only these 2 grfs are disabled

ttd-rusw.grf is russian letters for UTF
testw.grf is the new factory I code

in r1766 I do not get crashes, but AI builds monorails and builds a loco with default steam loco graphics (reversed) and no wagons that does not leave the depot.

"Disabled" is not the same as "not loaded". Similarly, "first" is not necessarily the same as "first active".

@Michael Blunck: I was just reading the "Read Me" file for your DB Set v0.82 ECS extension. With respect to the line "... in the file ttdpatch.cfg behind the line which specifies the DBXL v0.82 set." shouldn't that say "... in the file newgrf.cfg behind the line which specifies the DBXL v0.82 set." ?

Indeed, it is. 8)

@Wally
You´re not the first reading a Donotreadme.
mb wrote:I´m sorry. That´s a typo. O/c, it should be newgrf.cfg instead.
Then people "complained" about that it was still there the next day. Problem is that I wanted to upload yet another version in the evening, but then even more problems with overloading .grfs emerged (and resulted to a fix in TTDPatch by Csaboka).

Anyway, the new version didn´t get uploaded until today but that typo remained.

I´m going to upload a corrected version right now, just in case. 8)

NewShips are not ECS (yet)?

No, sorry. Not yet. There were some difficulties with overwriting cargo bits due to a small bug in TTDPatch, and some other inconveniences. Will be the next thing to do. 8)

BTW, I´ve just uploaded a "river graphics" .grf on http://www.ttdpatch.de/download.html. ATM, this isn´t really much more than a test file. E.g., it´s only working in temperate ATM, but there´ll be a full implementation when I´ve some more time soon.

Can you post a screenshot? Or are the screenshots in another topic?

Good to hear the ships will be ECS'ed too!

Looking forward to trying out the rivers :D Just what I need for my scenarios!

Michael, I don't know if you saw my suggestion earlier about the BR59, but I think it'd be a great slow heavy freight engine at the start. You like strange things and a 2-12-0 would be a good "starter" freight loco. of course it would be expensive and slow, but IIRC, they were pretty numerous.

Just a thought if you have a spare ID lying around ;)

Umm, no, I must´ve missed that. Indeed, the "K" class (later BR59) is an interesting engine, but it wasn´t that successful in Germany. Although there were 44 units built, they were exclusively used on the "Geislinger Steige" (a ramp in Baden-Württemberg) and sold to Austria for service on the Semmering when that ramp was electrified.

Nevertheless, I´d like to include it into the AlpineVehicle Set. 8)

Thanks for pointing it out, though.

Michael
