If it's done like that, you will get the land/water correct and the hills, though I think the map I got is with too poor resolution in height to make any noteworthy hills.
Ooh. Still learning TTDpatch, so not going to start learning OpenTTD yet

Okei, downloaded the program and got it up and running. But when i opened the scenario file ingame, it was nothing but water... I assume that this is more complicated than i hoped...

Think you managed to draw a train? Think you...? Not sure how you view your own work, but I'm pretty sure you could use a pair of glasses!

Read my tutorials; the part about sprite sizes. Your train looks decent, but the diagonals are too long.

Ok, i cut down the diagonal view with 2 pixels. But I've used your tutorials, but its a little unclear for about the size for the diagonal view..

Michael, a VERY good start, but the sprite is a little on the large side in the diagonal views, and there's no gap for couplings in the horixontal view. I always add buffers to my locomotives (that have them anyway), to separate them from the cars and other units behind. This creates a much more realistic appearance as the train's rolling along (and in the depot/info window)

The diagonals are way too long. General rule is 6 px wide for the front, and half the length for the side, so in this case, the loco is 32px long overall, so the length in the diagonal is 16 px.

Attached is a tweaked broadside (the nose was made more sloped and buffers added), as well as a shortened (and lowered) doagonal. This is closer to scale size (your | views look spot on in my opinion though)

Hope this helps.

now that's a nice ME (or two of them), but not perfect. The logo is not mirrored on the other side, so both sides looks identically. That goes for both liveries. Also the taillights, there are only two of them, not 3. I don't know what the red pixel on the roof is for, but the real engines do not have red lights there, only white.

I found a few mistakes on http://www.ooas.dk/ttdxd/trains/
1: Benzin is called petrol in English
2: the 3 bogie Triangel is diesel-electric, not petrol-mechanic. It's actually the same engine as MO, except there are just one of them.
3: t's spelled axle, not axel
4: it's spelled bogie, not boogi
Otherwise really nice work. Where did you get the pictures from? I mean the factory pictures of the steam locomotives, not the ones I linked to

Another thing. I searched the net for a photo of the rear end of the 2 axle Triangel motorcar. I didn't find any, so I made one myself yesterday when I was at the right location anyway. The engine in question is the same as the front shot. Because I showed up so late, I used nightvision and killed all the colours, but the metal is black and the woodwork and roof got the same colours as on the front. Notice that it actually got a white light on the roof in the rear. I presume it's only used for switching as it's a multiheaded engine and was meant to have one engine in each end of the train.

What I mean is that the logo is the same for both sides. You can use the same sprite for both sides if you get what I mean. Like this picture: http://www.morti.dk/07.10.06_056.jpg
When you view this engine, you will see the logo to the right. If you switch the lights and start to drive the other way, the logo will still be on the right in the picture (logically as it didn't move), but in your drawings, it will head in the other direction and the logo will magically move to the left and get mirrored.

Also if you walk around the engine, the logo will still be on that you will see as right when looking at it on the other side, so you have to look at the background to tell what side of the engine is shown in the picture. The same is true for the red-black livery.
