Sometimes easier to adapt real life to what looks good pixel-sized :D

Apart from the red-diamond parts, this is awesome. Maybe you can fix them, or alter them to some other shape?

Sometimes buildings take a while to find their TTD shape. Here's one of mine in first + final versions ;)

Heya guys,

I'm just trying DWE for the first time and it looks quite promising. However, so far DWE seems to include industrial stuff only. Any chance you'll be adding some passenger stuff? Some sort of small passenger terminals would be very nice. :)

And is there a specific reason I can't build any DWE station in 1900? :P

Cheers!

hey man,
its because of the way i coded most stuff. than the minumum year should be 1920.
i think should put it on the to-do list of stuff to fix.

i hope this weekend to release the 0.5 version that already will have lots and lots of improvements and new tiles

please note that from 0.4 to 0.5 lots of station ID's changed. best not to update in a running game

i forgot to react to your other question ;)

but yes, i also have some ideas for a passenger stations set. but that will be a separate grf, after this industrial one is done ;)

Aye, I didn't realise this was an indusrial-only set :P

Anyways, there's quite a few GRFs with large station buildings, but I'm looking for (extremely) small ones for local passenger lines which may only have a railbus stopping a few times a day xD

Do you use action14? If so, 'just' set the min version (if you need help, ican help you with that)

yes i have that working

Code: Select all

    1 * 30 14 "C" "INFO"
				"B" "VRSN" \w4 \d05 // current newgrf version
                  "B" "MINV" \w4 \d01
                  00
              00
but i have a sheet where i manage all the used ID's.
the sheet for 0.5 now looks like this:

Image

so as you can see with for example the roads (00 untill 0B) i only have 1 slot left.
if i want to add more i need to shift some other ID's to make some room.

then set the minv to 5 on the release, then you cant update the old savegames with the new grf :)

yes, but that is not the problem :)

but in version 0.4 the station platforms were ID 30 until 3F. industrial started at 40.
but i needed more IDs for platforms, so therefore i made industrial start at ID 50. so all the ones from 40 until 4F has gotten a new ID number.
therefore when you upgrade in a running game, in 0.4 the ID 40 was "woodpiles, RDM" but in version 0.5 it changed to "Stair-end basic platform" and thus looks totally different.
therefore i say its better to not upgrade 0.4 to 0.5 in a already running game. or you might have to rebuild some stations ;)

I took some parts of an ISR building and did some fiddling with colors and parts. I don't know if it'd be of any use for you? (or ISR).

exactly why you should set minv, as it _wont upgrade_ a running game :) _ATLEAST_ if you use bananas to download it. Then you will have two versions of the set. The old one will be used in savegames with the old version, and when starting a new game you only see the new version :)

Please, please, NEVER change the meaning of tileIDs and NOT make the grf incompatible. It's a first-class reason to crash the entire game back to the desktop. Update the min_compatible_version to your current newgrf's version, if you change the meaning of a single tileID.

ISR did the same between somewhere between 0.6 and 0.8. And EVERY savegame with trains which use ISR stations will crash when you update the grf.

It is also NOT required to have station tile IDs to be continuous. Just add your new station tile IDs to the end of your currentIDs and use that. And you save A LOT of trouble - and use A LOT of pointless bug reports :-(

that is why it is a 0.X version and not a 1.x as stated its a beta pre-release. use at own risk ;)
