Savegame 06 has a broken road outside of a depot to the right in the picture. It is visible in 1920x1200 and possible one or two steps smaller. Is this intended? Will that be fixed in case this savegame get selected?

Don't know, ask the author
In general, you should consider the games as-is, don't expect further fixes.

Personally I'd happily fix anything in my intro (which isn't #6

) should it be needed. Keep in mind that for most people it would have been difficult to test in higher resolutions.

You could have zoomed out, scrolled around or looked at the screenshots I generated every few days. I linked to those in the first post of the topic and in at least one other post, although I've removed them now as they were using quite a bit of HDD space.

I don't zoom out or load the levels.
I just rename them to opntile.dat and look wat happens.
This is how I rated these games:
Code: Select all
Start with 4 points
Missing rail type? -1
Different colors? +1
Glidsjes or errors? -1
Good looking level? +1
Different singals? +1
Long trains, or multiple locs? +1
To many sounds? -1
Is there a whole transport visible? +1 ( from resource to factory )
Missing transport types (railway, road, air, water) -2!
One of these:
- Do I realy like the level? +1
- Do I hate the level? -1
- I don't hate or like the level? +0!
The stupid thing is that my game doesn't use multiple colors, so I'm missing a point

outdated

I know it is outdated but here is my first title screen. I found good title game in the competition but I try to create a better one.

And thats mine evaluation criteria:
Code: Select all
For the 800x600 resolution:
- subjective impressions - max 2 points
- silience - max 1
- amount of vehicles - max 1
- different transport types - max 1
For the 1024x768 resolution (which I use):
- subjective impressions - max 2 points
- silience - max 1
- train/car connections - max 1
- treffic (here is positive) - max 1
Total - max 10 points

The submission deadline has been half a week ago, so you're too late to propose your savegame for the 1.0 series.
At this moment I have received 'only' 35 votes and only some 5 days remain to vote for this round.

Yes, I know... that's why I wrote: "outdated". I know it wont be in this competition

One of the 35 was me. After that email I started creating this title game.
1.0: Great work

Wow, that's a very nice game you made. It would have been surely one of my favorites.

After submissions a two stage election/vote will be held. The first vote, from 14-02-2010 till 21-02-2010 (23:59 UTC), will allow people to grade all title games. The second vote, from 22-02-2010 till 01-03-2010 (23:59 UTC), will allow people to vote from a short list of three title games; the ones with the most votes from the first round.

Maybe, but really where voting on a new one here since the old one is outdated, besides, we've been looking at the old one since openttd was made (I think)

I think people like Xandros prefer to keep the old one, that's why they want to vote for it.

Don't quote me on this: I think that there have been changes and fixes to the title, pre-signals being fixed and such.

No, nobody submitted it as a candidate before the deadline, as such it won't be part of the vote.

Rubidium's first post wrote:Over the years we have had lots of people suggesting that we change the introduction/title game. Usually these suggestions came just around the major release, so we did not have enough time to actually get a proper one. Another major drawback we have with a new title savegame is that it breaks our ability to easily spot problems with loading old savegames; the current title game goes through quite a lot of the savegame conversion code and as such tests that quite well. So we really would like to keep the current title game.
However, nine months ago someone came with the idea of having a different title game for the releases, so we can show what new features we have and how some things roughly work. I know that there are a few candidates already for the title game, but in this thread I hope to gather more candidates.
Ie the old title game will still be used in the nightlies.

It would be nice if we could just have a title screen select like we do for graphics, sound, and music in the options menu
