Do you know how I can fix it Morloth? I'm using the latest trunk and the latest version of NoCab.
Thanks
I will have a look at this tomorrow and see if I can recreate the bug and fix it :).
Endymion wrote:First of all I want to say I really like your AI, it is usually one of the strongest in the maps I play. I really hope you continue making NoCAB better and better. :D
Thanks :). I'm currently working on getting trains to work within my framework. But it might take a little while.
Endymion wrote:But one comment, though, your order settings are a real pain for me. Usually I play with a lot of AI's in the beginning of the game, but after a while I clearly won the battle and become the strongest company out there. At that point I start to takeover the AI's and integrate them into my own network (if possible). But your order settings include a force stop at the depot when the vehicle reaches a certain age. Since you dropped using shared orders, I have to alter all vehicles manually, instead of just a few groups, if I don't want them to end up in the depots all the time. When NoCAB has like 1000 vehicles and I take it over, it's like a mission impossible to alter the orders of all of them.

Is there any way you could update the AI to avoid this needing? (I don't see not taking it over as an option  )
Hmmmmz... The reason why I dropped shared orders is due to some weird behaviour I would get every now and then. Especially with ships. But will reintroducing shared orders fix your problems? If that's the case I'll have another look and see what can be done.

On a side note, I do want to rewrite the way I'm handling vehicle management. At the moment it's quite loosely defined, so sorting them into groups and stuff will certainly help you as well I suppose. Tomorrow is the day that I'll look at this as well.

Thanks for the bug reports, keep 'em coming!!! :)

Just toyed around a bit with the save / load functions but couldn't find what is going wrong. Noticing that multiple AIs have the same problem, I would guess it is a problem with the underlying framework but I'm not sure as I haven't checked the implementation. Do you have a suggestion Yexo what might be going on? The NoAI documentation hasn't been updated so if the implementation has to be changed please let us know :).

I'll try to look at the actual code at a later date and see what can be done.

With the release of OpenTTD 0.7.4 the save / load problems should be fixed. I'm currently working on train support and decided to do an intermediate release before I release version 2.0 (don't expect it before February though...). I'll first have a look at vehicle management and hope to fix this before Christmas, this will include the usage of groups which will make it easier to manage all vehicles once you take it over (and hopefully also easier for me to manage them ;)).

Enjoy the new release!

-= 1.26 (r333) =-
* Force vehicles to go into service after picking up cargo at both ends. This will enhance the performance of vehicles on bigger maps.
* Prepared the framework for train support (coming! :D).

Mmmm trains.

Looking forward to NoCab-oose. ;-)

Will certainly try out the new 1.26.

Thanks for the update.

Edit: Update - I would still like to see the distinct setting under/over which % transported the AI is not going to compete as some other fine AI's have.

Noted ;). Seems to be quite 'hip' to have some options which limit the AI's performance / options. So I'll have a think about it and come back to you for the following release. Additionally I can make a SirkoZ's edition with this one options just for you :P.

I see - well I can simply ignore your AI because of not having the option but it is a good AI.

BTW - v1.26: good, but it still makes too many road stops all over the place at the unloading area (or loading) - to the point they don't stick to the original station - so they eventually get other station name to which no vehicle goes. Also the joined road-stops may not be accessible (too far to travel to the next part).

I didn't encounter a situation where the truck stops actually get different names, but I'll look into this. Thanks for the report :).

Could you please provide information which NewGRFs and other patches you are using? I know you reported the same error a little while ago but I couldn't reproduce it.

Sweet! Thanks for the tip fanioz. I've fixed this bug now and it should work with all NewGRFs (at least should load without breaking down :)).

Let me know if you find any other problems!

Hey all.
Great AI, man. It was as competitive as you claimed it would be. However, I'm getting an error in a certain savegame at the same point, regardless of what I do.

Here's the error screen:

The topmost red lines (those that you left out) are the most important ones. Try to also include the numbers at the end of those lines. Thanks for reporting the issue though :). You can see those by increasing the size of the window.

Alternatively, if you could include your save game I can have a look at well. But thanks for reporting the error!

It could help you to update to the last NoCab version: 1.27 (r337) as can be seen here: http://bananas.openttd.org/en/ai/

For the moment unless I've missed something in the logs recently you still need to locate the old r296 version tar file and remove it from the OpenTTD search path which is explained in the readme (the search path). Only when OpenTTD can't find the AI version in your save it will pick the last available that is compatible with your save game. Yexo has said that he will work on a change here to make it so that OpenTTD will be able to pick the last possible version without locating and removing the old versions, but note that there isn't any time set for when he will be done with that.

Hello there.

i was playing with NoCab and PBI and got this error when a industry from PBI is closed:

no_cab_PBIError.jpg

dont know if you are aware of it, but the AI completly freezes after it. I have to manually reload it. :) I dont know if its a AI related problem or the PBI related, but since im playing with 7 other AI's and this is the only one that crashed i thought that it should be related to NoCab. I apologize if im wrong. :)

thank you for the great work you're doing there.

p.s.- i have the version from the content manager and the file is called NoCAB.1.27__r337_.tar... in the ai window it says r336. so, which one is correct? :D
