coding, coding, coding...evryone wants it done, noone can do it themselves

i cant do it myself, so im included in the above category.

however, i have recruited the services of jamie branwood, (of JBTechnical services).
i know him personally, so its cool.

so far i strarted him on my EMU

Yeah, that's exactly the problem with all of the additional TTD graphics. So finally I would have to learn coding myself, well, then you probably can't expect release of these set within a year, so it's probably no acceptable option
astath wrote:both look great, and i like the new one best. but you can also have both options available as a different building option, ofcourse. have you found a coder already? if not, i'll re-poke Aegir, because i really want to use these in the very not-so-distant future! :)
Uuhm... well, now I have one vote for the new roof and one-two for the old one... come on guys, that's not very significant, so more opinions please, or I'll make my own decision
About the coding services of Aegir: You /may/ poke him, of course, but what I've heard from he was that he really had no time for my project. And he also wrote to me in one of the first mails that he lacks a little bit of knowlegde for the /enhanced/ coding options.

Well, then I'll vote for the old one. Looks more like a roof, and there is already lots of glass there.
While we're at it, I think it would look cool to build this station elevated with additional tracks going underneath perpendicular to the hall, just like in reality. These would of course not be station tracks, but ordinary tunnels.

Do you have the Roentgen view? :D It would *look* cool to have underground tracks ... uuhm... SCNR
Anyway, thanks for the vote.

Oh, I did not want to look at the tracks, but rather simply have some tunnels going underneath the station, as they are in reality. Actually, I'm dreaming of being able to build station parts above each other, the lower part being inside the tunnel and the upper part just above. I guess it's pretty much impossible to make a tunnel act as station if station tiles of the same station are built at both portals, though.

/me joins dreaming about it.

But unfortunately as long as it is even impossible to build crossings and curves under bridges, as long it's impossible to build signals on bridges and in tunnels, and as long it is impossible to build curved bridges and tunnels I think the feature of tunnels acting as stations is also quite far away from being possible. :( What a pity.

well, generally Rail stations could work as road pieces, however I am still in research of the z correction, generally it would mean you could made a tunnel out of rail stations. But thats a different thing and will only come true If I fix a A LOT other places. (Like higherbridges, enhancetunnels and and and...)

Thank you for even a glimse of a shadow of a glimmer of hope through a very powerful telescope :!:
Now I can dream of station tunnels too :D

This staion is amazing!
How you make so real light reflection?

@Dr_Quin: Thank you.

About the light: Knowing physics and a having a feeling for lighting situations are a good basis. Having cool Photoshop effects available do the rest

just a note, can someone get this thing coded plz??

I would love these stations and other stuff to be coded aswell.

Abit OT, but het Red*Star where you been for the last couple of months or weeks.

those look really good also. damn, how come this topic full of (mainly Red*Star's, but also Prissi's) brilliant stations got forgotten?

noone wanted to code them by the looks of it

Red*Star wrote:Don't be afraid, I don't have forgotten it :D. I wanted to update the status so or so:

I have just sought some advice from Michael Blunck about station coding and that has confirmed my considerations: Station coding is damn complicated if you use non-standard layouts.

Because I don't have the time to learning coding in that detail, here is my "advertisement" ;) :
Every coder out there which has free time and interest to code this station is invited to volunteer for it. (Don't expect it to be a simple task )

(You can mail me or post here, but please no PMs - simple because I never pay attention to my new TTD forums messages folder...)

PS: If nobody wants to code this, the only thing I could offer is to code this station myself, but then just in a way that every tile/platform has to be placed individually and not with the auto-multi-platform-thingumajig of TTD...

I had no internet... I still don't have internet at home (just in the university), because I've moved into a new home and have lots of trouble with the telephone installation. And above all: Studies take currently most of my time. :(
M4rek wrote:noone wanted to code them by the looks of it
Maybe because it would be a mega-ultra-heavily complicated task?

Bye then, I have to work now...

*arising-from-the-depth-of-studies*

Here a lil' update on the station that will be (quoted from me) "a mega-ultra-heavily complicated task" when it (if it!) will be coded - the Berlin main station. Probably the final update.
Have merged the old an the new roof to something goodlookin' and modified the base to let the station be more like the original.

I considered digging this topic a few times recently but now I have no reason to! That looks absolutely fantastic! Amazing, so realistic but still retains the essensce of TT, brilliant.
