Those trees are excellent. However, I'm just wondering whether the detail is too fine for OTTD, especially if it's going to be smaller in the game?

good work on the trees
I tend to like 'Acer saccharum1' and 'Aesculus h 1' the best though.
Will each tree have variations? randomness? young vs mature tree etc?

Nice, looks good. however we need more customised areas like "status" "artist".... Work In progress images (like all the buildings...) need to be marked as such.
Any chance we can put up all the vechicles that were created? Have you spoken to people like Raven?

i have ALL of Ravens buildings and vehicles. they are on my computer, but need converting to new lighting, and materials....
Dylan. not to rain on your parade (i made the same mistake with my 21 trees)
all the trees we use need to fit these requirements.
they must have
Tiny
Medium growth
Full growth
no leaves/ death
Autum
Spring
Winter (with snow and without)
Summer
all of that PER TREE. before they will be accepted into the game. (all my trees need to be redone that means)
also for use in other models (such as pruned city trees) we are going to need a number of low poly trees, ones that will look great in cities.
this is because the full leaf trees etc.... take a long time to render.
your trees are beautiful, however we need lots of stages of trees.
the wiki will probably need a horizontal bar with images in it (per tree)
i would suggest making a wiki page entirely for trees. with ultimatly about 30 trees, each with the 8 stages. (then in the future they will have night time added also i would suspect.)
BTW i do love your trees.

Summer
Autum/fall
Winter (with snow and without)
Spring
i take it you are trying to go with the seasons patch compatability

i take it you are trying to go with the seasons patch compatability Cool
I'd bet he is going to make trees compatibile with all climates...

Those trees look very nice, although perhaps a bit too bright...

One of those trees remind me of Aeschylus.

Okie here is a preview of the 'growth'...
Oh and remember that i said i was no good at textures so you'll have to wait a bit for decent leaf/seasons colours

Oh man! They look like real! That's amazing!
I hope shadows on the ground won't be solid...
Also I think you should add autumn stage before death\winter stage
My idea about the growth:
Code: Select all
| Spring | Summer | Autumn | Winter
small | leafs | leafs |red leafs| no leafs
medium | flowers| leafs |red leafs| no leafs
big | flowers| leafs |red leafs| no leafs

Thanks
I like your idea about growth, nice one. But by 'Flowers' do you mean blossum?
The shadows can be rendered anytime, theres was just no 'ground' when i rendered the trees, and they are just as detailed as the trees

Yes, that's the word I've forgotten. Just like pink cherry blossoms
