i don't know the exact limits. but if you maxed out at 80 of each vehicle type, you could average a train length of 3 tiles (engine+5 wagons) and you couldn't buy any more wagons because of the vehicle limit.

Those were really modest limits, but it didn't feel like that to me at the time :) Maybe it's also because it was played in a completely different style, not like today where a player can do practically anything and have steam trains even in the twenty-first century :)

i should add that on my computer the game ran like a crawl at those limits, and i never even reachted 1950 before i switched to a newer computer.

What are we going to talk about, those limits corresponded to the possibilities of the computers of that time :)
I also had a bit of a problem with the large number of trains and cars. Although at the time I was either not very good with cars, or the buses from the original game were generally not very profitable, often unprofitable.

Downloaded and installed it. I put 2 train stations(NewGRF: industrial_stations_renewal-1.0.2) and changed the date(cheat) - the game is crashing
