Well then don't complain about the price. Also just because you have a reservation doesn't mean you have to sit in it. If s*** hits the fan your advanced ticket will be valid on whatever service anyway.Redirect Left wrote:I never buy advance fares, due to the requirement of it being X train at Y time, and it being recommended you sit where you get told to do so. Did you just look for the walk up fare tomorrow?Redirect Left wrote:£101 for a return from my local station, think I may have to skip this one

Re: TT Meet 2014 - Glasgow?
I prefer to go to things rather than stay at home because my ticket isn't flexible.
Re: TT Meet 2014 - Glasgow?
I'd rather die than pay a non-advance fare.
Eus-Pre railcard off peak return: £55
With advance tickets etc: £27.30
Half price!!!

You said it was too expensive, in my book that's a complaint!Redirect Left wrote:...Yeah, I didn't complain?Ameecher wrote: Well then don't complain about the price.

That's clearly not the meaning of 'get a room'!Hyronymus wrote:Get a room, guys. Just say you (intent to) come or not.Ameecher wrote:You said it was too expensive, in my book that's a complaint!Redirect Left wrote: ...Yeah, I didn't complain?

Location is not an issue to me
So long as I'm free on the day, I'll be there
On a serious note, if you are coming, and plan to use the Subway be sure to sign up for a free smart card while they are... free (will be going to £3 before the year is out rumour says)
Even using it once will save you some money as a day ticket is £2.70 on the smart card, or £4 for a paper ticket!
Anyone up for a subcrawl ?

Re: TT Meet 2014 - Glasgow?
Never been to Glasgow, so will try to be available for this.
Am going to check out Megabus fares- As much as coaches may be diabolical, they might be an option for those of us on a budget. My trip to last years meet in London cost me a grand total of £20 (beer notwithstanding!), and a large chunk of that was getting an Oystercard!
Choosing the latest Sat available (at this point, 22/03/14) Leeds-Glasgow return is £45.50
Sounds good!

I'm guessing that's a trip around the Subway, visiting a pub at each station...Redirect Left wrote:A what now?Ploes wrote: Anyone up for a subcrawl ?

A forced regisration with photo and all. BTW you can order one without using a photo, but it will cost you 3 GBP then already. How much privacy can you afford?Redirect Left wrote:A what now?Ploes wrote: Anyone up for a subcrawl ?

Re: TT Meet 2014 - Glasgow?
Just as an FYI some real bargains can be had on the sleeper to/from London
I managed to get a seated sleeper one way for £27 and a bed for the return for £29
Really can pay to book in advance

Also there is the Roundabout Ticket which is unlimited train and subway travel in the area indicated on this map for the bargain price of £6.30 after 9.00am M-F or all day at weekends!
Used one for the first time yesterday and found myself doing extra little jaunts, because I could
