That's a pretty nice station.

@Opan: I think i'll pass until there is an overgrown track version. Speaking of which, isn't it possible to make it a "Track mod" like the third rail? If it's a disused track you wouldn't need signals. And, if it's just an overgrown line, i don't think there's much need for a signal either.

Just edit this line of code to the stations that you want to be compatible.

Code: Select all

	<useobject des
c="station[0]" class="15">TRSTAT1 </useobject>
	<useobject desc="station[1]" class="15">TRSTAT2 </useobject>
	<useobject desc="station[2]" class="15">TRSTAT3 </useobject>
	<useobject desc="station[3]" class="15">TRSTAT4 </useobject>
	<useobject desc="station[4]" class="15">TRSTAT5 </useobject>

Such and thing already exists for OTTD http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... sed+tracks[/quote

I know i have tried to do that with no luck just wondered if sometimes other track stations and mods are not compatible with others?

It is possible. I've tested a few from digidampfman's station pack and they all work. What stations are you trying to apply to the track?

I tried adding 1 track mod and one platform from the UK station pack but neither seemed to work. I will double check my editing and try a station from digidampfan's pack it might just be a compatibilty thing, am i right in saying that the maximum number of track mods for one track type is 3?

Dissused rails, you find them everywhere in the world but why did no one came up with this idea in the past years that this game is on the market.. Nice Job!

Looking good.

They existed. They were in the beta for the Provo pack and were buildable. See here http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=691829#p691829 (you could even run normal trains on them)

I ran into a game limit i had not expected and had to make a choice for what was in the pack quickly. the beta testers wanted other bits instead.
It was then slated for TEH map. we all know how that one is going.. (One Day I will come though.. maybe the lomo 10 year anniversary pack)
It then was moved to serpent 2.. its 90% done but no time to work on it.

this is my first week home in 8 months. I'm surprised my PC even booted

Yes you can only have 3 track mods per track type and you need a vehicle that needs that track type for it to show up I believe.

I am working on have two more track types. Weathered ties with no rails and Weathered ties with rails. Just to have variety. And its difficult to make a track mod for the disused rails because the track mods are layered on top of the regular rails. So you would get weathered rails on top of usable rails and it doesn't look good. I could though, have a base track that is completely weathered with only ties and then have two track mods. One unweathered ties and another that is rails.
I'm still working on it as I can so don't worry

Made me giggle.

Edit:
Something like the attached picture for a track mod. Thats what I've got in my head, whether it works or not will decide if I do it (its the curves that are the hardest I'm finding out).
Sorry for the low resolution

the 3 mod limit was a huge upset. otherwise we would have disused track and concrete sleeper mods by now. that's why we stopped where we did. more candy then we were allowed to eat..

Thats why I figure that you make a different track type for each kind of track you wanted. For example, you have 3 different kinds mod on an overgrown track base and build from there. Have a broken down concrete track on the bottom and that has a newer looking concrete track mod so you can have both. Although 3 is a low number I want to believe that its not impossible since you can have up to 8 track types. Its just that it will take up 8 more vehicles slots.
This is kind of what I have in my head right now.

No worries on this side.

I might be able to make this work. It turned out much better then I thought. This is the disused track with a overgrown base, then you can add either un-weathered ties or weathered rails.

I tried to record me building it in-game but I couldn't get Fraps, Camstudio or Hypercam to work so I settled with just a screenshot. I'll continue getting as much done as my free time permits, which may get more tricky with my exams looming in the coming weeks. Let me know what you think.

hahh, some not so dry humor from you guys in Europe, and also, I'm wondering where you got that concrete bridge and beautiful station in the first page pics? Anyways, this is the first interesting mod topic in awhile, I'm glad you guys took the time to work on it, it looks fantastic, and would work well on some of my maps and Bluebeetle's maps.

You mean Longtown Junction? Well the platforms are from the UK station pack which i can't remember the link but if you type it into the search engine above you will find it easy enough. The concrete passenger bridge is part of the bauplatz mod from the loco fan page and the concrete road bridge is the flyover.dat which again you can find by searching. If ur still having trouble let me know and ill upload the DAT files :D
