Re: [WIP/REL]Version 2012 of my rail vehicle packs

Post by K.Y.Chung »

The next one is the MOR (Chinese National Rail) Passenger Coaches Pack. The proposed vehicles include:
Type 21
Type 22 (Passenger Car / Luggage Car as Mail Van)
25 Series:
Type 25 (Passenger Car)
Type 25B (Passenger Car / Double Deck Passenger Car / Mail Van)
Type 25G (Passenger Car / Mail Van)
Type 25Z (Passenger Car / Double Deck Passenger Car / Passenger Car with Mail carrying capacity)
Type 25K (Passenger Car / Luggage Car as Mail Van)
Type 25T (Passenger Car / Mail Van)

Although they are classified into different classes (soft seat / hard seat / soft slepper / hard sleeper / luxury sleeper ......), but I will only make hard seat cars (or soft seat one if no hard seat cars had been produced ever) as we can't charge the passengers with different rates in the game.

Oohhh... very nice!

If the outside is the same it's worthless to create sleepers indeed.

Have you already made locos that can pull these coaches? I'm don't really have much knowledge about the Chinese railways, but like looking at them.

Sounds and looks very nice !!!! :) So there will be new coaches for the engines of Walter1940. But an other question: do the HXD locos operate with passenger trains or only with freight cars ?

No, at least not yet. It should be quite a HUGE project to make a collection of even ONLY major mainline locos.

In normal conditions, HXD3C is quite often used for passenger trains nowadays, while HXD3 is also used for peak periods. The others will only be used for freight trains as it should be a waste to use the locos with an extremely high power output but the maximum speed is just 120km/h for passenger trains

I've taken a look at Walter1940's locos again and I think they would go well with them. Considering the HXD3(C) can be used as well solves all problems! :D

Very busy these days, but one more finished. In fact, some of the technologies adapted for development of 25 series come from British Mk3 passenger carriage, which is a build-in object of British scenario.

Looks great!

And, well, do you mind if I ask you to make a Chinese freight car? The HXD locos desperately need some coal hoppers (or other freight cars) behind them and I can't really find alternative mods that come even close to them. There's no hurry or whatever, but just thinking that it may be quite nice to have some.

Freight cars should be in last priority, and I don't think it's necessary to make all types of freight cars. Using those built-in freight cars is acceptable, except mail van

I agree with you, there's no high priority at all. The default coal hopper looks reasonable, but default vehicles combined with mods look bad.
However, it was just an idea of mine and you should just do want you want yourself.

It seems you're making models faster the less replies you get.
I don't know about the real life equivalent of these coaches, but the 3D models are really amazing. Makes you wish that Lomo has better graphics.

You can have a look for the real life equivalent of these coaches in Wikipedia, but no English version has been edited so far
