Trees
Dear Prof. Frink;
If I do press 'T', what will happen?
Always,

Re: Trees
Sorry, I was actually talking about me, my suggestion for some sort of cheatJim Powers wrote:Mr. Spaceman-Spiff;
Sorry about that. Sir, I thought that it had to be under 'New Topic'.

But the 'T' key is apart from F1 my most used key !
Simple solution: Use transparency when building railroads. The TTDPatch-added shortcut key ("T") works wonders in this case. I always turn it on when building through heavily wooded areas, to look for potholes and such. Also, sometimes potholes can be handily avoided by using buildonslopes, if they're not too big.
How many boards would the Mongols hoard if the Mongol hordes got bored?

Trees
Dear Mr. Spaceman-Spiff;
Thanks, Man, I use transparent mode all the time, but, didn't know
to use 'T' on the keyboard. That's a big help.
It doesn't take away from my trees annoyance though.
Always,
Jim Powers

I don't like the trees density sometimes because they obstruct your visual too much. It's speacially annoying when you can't see how's the terrain beneath them.
I don't like the idea of completely eradicating them, but a trees density control switch would be useful. Of course such switch would be effective when creating new games only.

An option that I would find useful would be an second layer of transparency when trees and bridge superstructures (i.e. everything above the deck) were not displayed.
Ideally this would be added to the T hotkey o it became a three-setting toggle - normal -> Transparent -> Supertransparent

Anything can be achieved if you don't care who gets the credit

what happens in a bribe? cos i had about $200 million and deicded i needed this town to participate in the "world network" (my fancy name for the giant network spanning every single town) but i carved the land too much, and my rating was appauling, so i went and bribed the local authority about seven times, then my rating was good. i have not been caught...........yet

Now you've lost meMe_Simon wrote:so that one million dollars, IS the caught fee? really so i thought if u bribe them too much, a news message says, "you have been caught and been forced to pay $30 million" or something like that. one million is not really a lot, i make 6 million a year
When you're caught you're rating goes bad and you can't bribe for a year
Always save before bribing so you can reload and try again
This can happen several times
So always try the trees first

I like the idea of Supertransparent mode. When you turn that on, you don't get tree shadows; you just get stumps.
But really I've never found them to be that big a pain. If you don't like them play in the Tropic mode (and stay out of the jungle) In the desert I miss them.
And what's wrong with trees spreading? Isn't that what they do in real life?
About the trees-in-the-corner cheat - how exactly do you do this? Usually the opposite corners are in the ocean.
