380,000 people. Most impressive I must say.
You should be in the 'TTD Hall of Fame', if one were to be created.
TTD Fall of Fame?

Dear Mr. Way_to_Fun;
I don't, of course, deserve to be, but, Thanks anyway.
But.........
It might be an idea to put a TTDLX Hall of Fame.
It would list the real VIP's, such as Josef Drexler and
others with their *Profiles* and their contributions to the best game
in the world. Then, us common users of the game could vote
to place the contributor's names in the TTD Hall of Fame.
Any feedback?
Always,
Jim Powers

If that's the same city of which there is a screenshot posted elsewhere, I am not sure it is technically "one" city, it looks from the city names that it is a bunch of cities run together. Which doesn't detract from the accomplishment.
I only wish it were possible to make subways!
Making Subways

Mr. KR Taylor;
First of all, I just finished the city yesterday. And,
YES, IT IS ONLY ONE CITY! What is so hard to accept this.
I haven't published this scenario yet, be cause it is not finished,
Sir, "Plenty of Planes", is published and you can see it under
the *Problems* topic in TT-Forum. This is the first city of my latest
[unfinished] scenario "Mammoth Cities". The reason for the name
"Plenty of planes", is because I had [9] airport spaces in a city
of 250,000, but, after learning that you can't have more than [3] airports
in a city, I revised it to the present state and picked up 50,000 more
people to make a total of 300,000 population. But that was last week.
Now, in this same scenario which I call "Mammoth Cities", I have still
another yet larger city with a population of 380,000 people.
And, I have screenshots to prove it.
By the way, Sir, I have been running *Subways* quite successfully for a
year. Look it some of my scenarios, including "Oil Heaven" for a very fine
subway system.
Always,
Jim Powers :wink

Too bad, once you start playing with it, it shrinks enormously
Look at these towns, you will know them, after 5 years only, nobody wants to live in my games, they all kill themselves or move to another savegame
This must be corrected

Dear Mr. spaceman-Spiff;
Someone in TTD Patch said they were going to work on this problem.
It's some kind of computer erosion. I didn't know that kind of thing
even exsisted until I asked TTD Patch. I wished I knew programming
I'd definitely be working on this problem. But, even when it erodes,
it's still larger than most other cities I've seen and I've found that they
still make you enormous amounts of money. Good Luck, Sir.
Always,
Jim Powers

Mr. spaceman-Spiff;
Santa Barbara started with a population of over 130,000 and
Los Angeles with 170,000. Are you using the subway system?
I'm losing people, but, not that fast. Also I always go to the airports
first for faster transportation
By the way, what's Spam? I only know it's meat in a oblong can, at least
in the USA.

I don't know what is happening
As long as this isn't fixed, it's no fun playing
Look what's happening, statues and fountains, why isn't this a problem for anyone here

Spam:

Or it's junk email you get normally offering porn or to enlarge your penis.
Or it's junk posted on a forum or messageboard.

Mr. Spaceman_spiff;
You are not the only one. I get this same crap! Now, as I said
before, expand. But first, you use the famous cheat "Bribe Authoities",
and get an "Excellent" Ratings. Then, when you go to the Editor, you'll
have a high enough rating to blow up those unwanted statues, fountians
and parks, also the theaters and cinemas, all which don't mean hardly
anything as far as population size goes. (The "Fox" theater looks good as
well as the warehouse.) But, theaters and cimemas and theaters only give
you 35 people, the warehouses only 8 people. Statues, Parks and Fountians
(0) people. Notice: Where any of these items appear, you can blow them
up for an office, flat, or any other commercial building which can give
you over 180 people for using the same [1] tile.
Sir, That's the secret to building large cities.
Thanks Mr. Prof. Frink for the "Spam" information.
Always,
Jim Powers
Huge Towns map

Elo peeps
Been following this forum for 2 weeks now. Im glad that i found it, for one of my favorite games. I have found A LOT of new ideas for train layouts. This is great!!
Playd this great game years back and now rediscoverd it. And the patch makes it more enjoyble. I have learnd a lot from here & playd quickly 3-4
games in a row with my new knowledge. As i saw this scenario, i mean... wow, 300k peeps in a town. Thats impressive. I started just by looking it and seeing for myself if the cities will declane. The years passed and i was still playing the map. Made mostly ships, planes & road vechicles. Few trains, just to see my train income filled in the end of the year. This was a relaxing change from train layouts. Very soon i found out that my ratings is maxd. Not in a game where i push hard for efficiency, but in a relaxing game, where i watch the ships and choppers in action. I playd it loosly and out game the best result. Was a nice game for me

.
Back to building train routs. Hmm, that 22towns challenge in another topic sounds inviteing.
PS! Dont mind the grammar. My first language isnt english

It's good enough to understand (apart from a few missing apostrophes, it's pretty close to perfect)
We won't complain about anyone else's writing while Zetor's still around...

Hey, First I wanna to thanks you for using TPS

however it is obsolete now, and you need either notepad

or TTDX Configurator, next, I suggest to get newest
TTDPatch (stable=2.0 rev 1, notstable=2.0 alpha 8 ), third I suggesto to lower morevehicles to 5 (10 is a bit to much anyway), last I suggest to make forcerebuildovl switch on to avoid errors or problems while changing to newer version of TTDPatch
now about the savegame:
nice, 1000 points, congratulations, moreover (which supprise me, you have only 7 opints so I don't understand why you have 1000 poitns according that 120 is needed

)
profits from Road Vehicles are quiet impressive but from ships are normal, and as usuall I will add that I prefer maps that shows region that exists in real world

but do not take it to heart

Thankies, glad to be here

.
New patch u say, will look for the webpage again. I got the patch(& extras) few weeks back. Havent made any updates since. Will also make the changes u suggested. I thing i dont get, i got only 7 what? Im missin something or im just a noob

. What suprised me about this map is, i got the rating maxed so easily. Quite fast too. My first time iv done that. And further more, not in a complicated game... i was just haveing a look at the map and made few lines, then another line and so on. Basic play with max result.
The biggest city possible

Hi folks
I'm proud to release my new scenario: It's the biggest city possible for TTD + Patch without editing the building's populations with TTDAlter. As you can see on the screenshot, the whole map is flat and fully covered with large office blocks (those with the lift), except the very first tile in the northern corner, because TTDPatch unfortunately uses that savegame position for the 'morevehicles' switch. That makes 255^2-1=65024 large office blocks with a population of 220 each. So the city, whose center is in the middle of the map, has a population of 14,305,280, which is the absolute maximum!
Once you have one or more active stations in this city, it's shrinking back to a few million people because the outer buildings are being replaced by smaller houses creating nice residential districts, and the center is getting as variedly as usual.
