+1 respect. how that is even possible though, because I already held you in such esteem, creating such amazing mods.

Took me a while though to come up with a semi-smart answer.

Very nice as usual Strongbow. I have a question about them. What is the middle part of them trains? Is that where the engine is? No certain reason why I ask, just curious. I also wanted to ask you something about the screenshot of the train in max on the first page. The lights look like they are on. Did you use a self illuminating texture or is that something else? Thanks...

Yes, the middle part is the power module and the front + back part are not powered. As for MAX, I find it easier to model with a material applied to the mesh that has self-illumination at 25-33%. That way nothing gets drowned in black and it has a nicer look to work with. There is no lights in that scene, apart from the default lights that MAX applies to every new scene. I also love how ZBrush displays viewport models in a sort of wax look, but that's not useful for trains at all. :)

rofl at zbrush.. maybe you could sculpt some landscapes?

anyway nice as usual, martin. i promise - this time no single word about the seats..

Hahaha, the joke with seats never gets old... :D

But as for ZBrush, even landscapes in Locomotion have a sharp look - maybe a gigantic snowman? Should be easy with the ZSpheres tool. :)

Thanks Strongbow. I wasn't sure how you did that but thought is was a self illuminating texture. The screenie looks cool with them looking like the lights on the train are on. I just recently learned about that. I wasn't asking about the scene lights tho. I guess I should have been a little more specific but you understood what I was asking. Thanks again.

And the last unit for this pack is the GGB Bhe4/8, which has been available in the Tatra pack for some years now, but this time it comes along with the original version from 1965 with old stairs and livery. I don't think I've ever shown it in high resolution, even though it's more basic than my recent work.

Anyway...

Since I had the ABeh 2/6 front mask modelled in 3D, I decided to do the Westswiss Metergauge trains that share a similar design. You can read about them on Wikipedia (use Google Translate if needed).

Very nice! Loving the blur effect around the sides of the screenshot!
I'd love to see this included with these GoldenPass cars:
