I am planning to make a small modern propeller plane (don't know which one exactly yet, maybe ATR72)
syndrome wrote: BTW, I think that the patch speeds are just a bit too high. Each plane moves like it's a Concorde or sumthin.
I'm working on a 140 km/h plane... It does not look fast.

Yes, that was the whole idea.. Thx for reading my mind.
However, the percentage is not necessary. I was rather thinking of a multiplier (or in this case: a divider). Something like this:

Code: Select all

ttdpatch -YP 1 // realistic speed
   ... -YP 2 // half speed
   ... -YP 4 // quarter speed
   etc.
spaceman-spiff wrote:But off-course you can use TTDalter for those supersonic speeds
That one I didn't understand... Why on Earth one wants supersonic velocities that make those airfields seem like helipads? Well, again, I guess there's an entire queue line for such visual experiences :)
Never mind.

:?: One more thing: what do you do in order to make a helicopter (besides the grf encoding)? From what I learned, it uses two sprites: 1) the fuselace and 2) the animated ellise (hope this is the right word ). I suppose there's a flag of some kind which tells the engine whether the aircraft is VTOL or not. Is there a way to replace this animated part, leaving the original helicopters unchanged, or perhaps to make a helicopter (or similar aircraft) without one? Tell me if I ask too much

it's possible to change it as all other sprites, but not doing different ones (which would be cool for giant helicopters or double-rotor ones)
when ttdx is told "aircraft xx is an helicopter" it just adds that sprite onto it (it makes stupid-looking aircrafts when you make a boeing become an helicopter  ) so it's not possible to have helicopters without helice (except if a patch is done for it :?: )

edit: i found a perfect gif for designing the Airbus A380 (will replace dinger 200, id 1F) look, it shows every useful position:

edit2: i only have to put transparent color around each part of the gif and resize it... that's where i missed something i just did a ridiculously small 555-passengers aircraft... I think it will be ready tonight

I will have a page available soon where you can reserve the ones you wan't to use, I will PM you the login info when it is ready.

It will be here: http://ttdgraphics.cjb.net/planeset/planelist.php (Currently not available)

And for helicopters: no, not possible, but you can remove the rotor if you wan't.

Nope, remove the sprites for it. It may be possible to make double rotors too! Will try it soon

What do you think? http://ttdgraphics.cjb.net/planeset/planelist.php

Emeric Pro, tell me which Id's you need and I'll reserve that Id for you.

And is it okay that I take over the planes on your site and change their livery :?:

there is only 27 ID's ?? IMO there are more, maybe some empty, unknown and unused in TTD

40 exactly... it are HEX #

And I wished there were more :!:, we could add planes instead off replacing!

And Emeric Pro shall I put your Airbus 380 on ID 14 :?:

Maybe the patch can create a purge-function: I assume that the Junckers JU52 will not be in the air by 2000 anymore. Say the JU52 has ID#1 (how random). By purging (cleaning of obsolete data) the savedata you would be allowed to introduce a new airplane with ID#1 because the previous ID#1 lost its function.

ask Josef, but I think it is impossible, and I placed some information on the concorde on my site...

*I don't know yet, I thought we could just change data of interesting planes (some have good design (eg JU52), but others have false ones used by different planes (eg Caravelle)
I have at least 6 plans of truely new planes (2 oldies, 2 cargo planes, 2 modern passengers ones)

*Yes you can of course, also what do you think should be done :
- Planes fully colored in player's color (I don't think so)
- Planes with only "rear rudder" (dunno exact english word) colored in players color
- Planes keeping a real livery from a real company
(later) wrote: And Emeric Pro shall I put your Airbus 380 on ID 14
ID 14 ? it's the first free one you've got? I thought we could put it instead of one which will be deleted (a not real one, such as dinger 200)

edit: seen your plane list. ok that seems ok like this.

And I thought it doesn't matter which ID's I use becouse all plane graphics are getting replaced.

If you wan't more ID's feel freee to contact me...
