Thank you Islacrusez, your presence is, of course, appreciated.
Graphically, I'd like to stick fairly close to the original graphics. Obviously this is a must for the landscape which must look sufficiently TTD-ish!

Shouldn't be too difficult, after all, you will only need two tiles ... one for ashes and the other for dust.

Okay so this is going to be a trial by committee, for my first request.
I'd like all interested parties to prepare a landscape for me. Just the flat tile will do for now but make sure you present it in a 4x4 sort of style so I can get some idea of how it'll look.
Remember I'd like it to be in a sort of post-apocalyptic sort of thing, but it won't look like the moon, and will probably be like the cleared dirt on TTD, with a few patches of grass, etc.
See what you can come up with

Just a quick suggestion, you could have vehicles and/or industries running off some strange new substance from the asteroid. (Worlium)

Worlium? Heh :)
Well, I hope there would be more variety than in traditional openttd where newer vehicles were basically almost always better than old ones ... perhaps sometimes introduce some new vehicles that is larger but slower, or sometimes tat is generally somewhat better, but not in all aspects, so sometimes it would be better to use the old one.

This is where my idea stops being a single overhaul and becomes a more project style thing.
I'm aiming to create a default set for AP, whereby there is only a normal amount of vehicles, as per the default vehicles from temperate.
However, in parallel, I'll also be leading a group of artists creating an all encompassing set of vehicles.
I've got plenty of ideas about how that'll work, for sure
EDIT: Regarding suttonc's suggestion, I hadn't actually thought of that, but it's not a bad idea at all.
Not worlium though XD

Hmmm, by this time I'd imagine that all natural resources are depleted. But with this meteor striking the Earth and killing lots of people, old materials can be recycled as they aren't used anymore*. Metal prices would probably be through the roof. Water would undoubtedly be extremely valuable. I'd also imagine that buildings would look a bit ragged, built from scavenged materials, and that technology would be protected with armor or weapons of some sort... That would be resulting from people starting to compete over the limited resources and valuable technology and raiders and so on and so forth (that's more story and visible effects, rather than actual gameplay, though you could use attacks as disasters)?
*Metals from destroyed cities to a recycling plant, to a city or some sort of construction yard or city storage or something?
I'm not going to dictate how things should be done, as you've got your own ideas. Just bouncing suggestions.

M4rek's got it on the nose
I'll be starting an AP forum soon, where I'll release most of the information, but what m4rek has said there is how it will work in quite a few situations.

I'm in the process of editing my concrete small airport (1980s style) to fit a more post-apocalyptic age, and I've drawn up something similar to to the German 88mm FlaK. If you want I'll throw it into my old thread as a WIP and post it in here once it's done, if you like it.
