In South Africa we use one way streets around inner city blocks to help traffic problems because the roads are only 4 lanes wide and you can't move th buildings :) . All normal roads have a speed limit of 60km/h, big roads 80km/h and highways 120km/h.

Its not hard -- google for buildottd. Download it. Download the patch. Run buildottd, tell it where the patch is, check the 'force revision to match patch' box, hit the update and compile button, and 5-10 minutes later you have your binary. Copy that to your open ttd folder, and you're away. Backup the original openttd.exe though, just in case.

The path finding system would have to be altered, so the cars search for the fastest way, not the shortest.

Well...I downloaded the buildOTTD, and it says "The right inicialisation of the application (0xc0000135) went wrong. Click on OK to close the application." Nothing else than ok stands there...I've got Win XP SP2 Professional CZ... Anyone got an idea, how to solve this problem?

I'd recommend googling for c0000135 and seeing what type of information you get. Maybe even googling the exact error message, especially if you can convince Wndows to issue it in English.
