Not at all. I would gladly replace it with a "GRFCrawler - Find your graphics here!" thread.

I also realized, that it would be possible to include GRFs to GRFCrawler without beeing the author, I am not sure, how that is supposed to work or even allowed.

Unfortunately that person would then become the maintainer for that GRFCrawler listing and be responsible for any updates. The bottom line is that it is the author's responsibility to look after these things. If the author wants people to use his graphics then he is the one who should want to make them as available as possible. If the first place players are going to look is GRFCrawler, then I would think the author would not hesitate to list his graphics there.

While I can see that there would be a number of benefits to this, I think it could also cause some problems (and hostilities amongst some users, as demonstrated already in this thread). Perhaps something to reconsider in the future, but I think we'll leave things as they are for the moment.

Owen, I think we had a healthy discussion and I largely agreed and I did withdraw my original suggestion to replace it with another one:

How about a sticky topic in both the OTTD and TTDPatch sections?
"GRFCrawler - Find your graphics here!"

... Sort of a road sign to get a new player's attention as to where to find a good place to find graphics before starting a new thread (And to encourage authors to list their works there as well). I'm still waiting for people to comment on this later suggestion.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea. I may be able to stick some sort of message on the actual forum page itself, I'll look into it.
