I'm voting for multiple random images (diffirent one each load) ... gives a bit variety plus we could include more ... maybe some best GRFs too

Define best. You can't include everyone's, and you don't want to leave people out.

Also remember that NO GRFS SHOULD BE USED!

That includes Pikka's viaduct in Killer's shot.
and how about elrails in all those shots?

i think itd be fine to use the UKRS since it is or was orriginally meant to be an upgrade to the orrginal set. The same for NARS durring xmas if it has to stay cc. Also we need to keep the blue band at the top i think.

Nope. Disagree. One could quite easily argue that the DB Set should be up there. No discrimination = No discontent.

Well it might, but it's Owen's forum. He doesn't owe us s***, so it's up to him.

So, does that include ttdpbase[w].grf and Open's equivalent ones? :twisted:

Quite so.
However, I like this random image idea. :D

orudge wrote:Also, it'd be nice if it lined up with the gridlines like the current one.
May I point out that, at least on my PC, the current logo is a few pixels out of alignment? :P

Same here :)
Both on Windows & Linux.

Yep. At least, IMO.

I think we should allow GRF's, but ONLY the default ones. (ttdpbase, and the openTTD equivalent)

So, you're saying that, for example, the 'default' catenary by MB is allowed, and my catenary isn't, just because MB's one is the default one? *

Sounds pretty unfair to me.

Either no newgrf's at all, or all grf's and a logo contest IMO.

Actually, I'd vote for keeping the current logo, there's nothing wrong with it anyways.

* Assuming MB's catenary is included in the ttdpbase grf file

they realy mean newgrfs, not grfs

ttdpbase grf is a newgrf too, it's new after all. The only not-new grfs are those included in the standard TTD. At least, IMO.

Furthermore, I assume you got my point of view, wether those grfs are called newgrf or not :wink:

i agree with you purno

Why not make the roling logo and then make logos which each feature different newgrf sets, and one with the original graphics ofcourse. But let the trains and stuff always be in the same position when doing that so they only differ in train/road vehicle/ship graphics.

Hard to keep updated, it's a good idea tho. But you'd need to update it once in a while when new graphics are made. And featuring trains and RV sets would be unfair if you don't featuring plane and ship sets, etc.

MB's catenary stuff IS in the ttdpbasew.grf.

Okay slight exaggeration (thanks to DaleStan for pointing that out ¬¬).

The base should be used. Anything that is seen as necessary to enjoy the patch's features should be included. But the default sets of trains, road vehicles, ships, aircraft, track, etc. should be original

how about a Forums Orientated logo?
OTTD = OTTD Logo
TTDp = TTDp Logo
TE = TE Logo
OT = Pig Sty Logo..... :P
