OK, several months left since my last post. But hey, the summer is here and so I am... I played around a little bit with the newhouses-project an TTRS. I think these Screenies are some of the best I've ever made. I hope, you'll enjoy them as much as I do. Here we go...

P.S.: The pictures have been taken from late 50s to early 60s. I use the "build on pause"-option in my games. Maybe you consider this cheating, but I like to make use of all the potential of DBSetXL on a really huge map (2048*2048)l. If I'd play without the option, I would be out of time just after finishing the first coast-tocoast railroad or the tracks woul just look like the ones from all the maglev-guys. And I think that style is lame...

OK, for several month I've posted not a single screenie, but here we go. These screenies are from my latest game and I make use of much of the advanced features in the nightly. There are trams, there are new buildings and I've played araound a little bit with balancing and configuration:

I play with low city-density and very low industry-density. Also cities are growing slowly, but one city out thirty had the chance to become a metropolis at the beginning of the the game. The effect of this configuration is just brilliant: The game builds a nice map at the beginning with cities and villages. The cities will become hubs, while the villages stay villages during the game with only slight growth. That way I'd say, this game is the most realistic TTD-game I've ever played.

First, we will travel on the „Küstenhochbahn“ from Frankhaven to Klein Eichenmünster. It's one of the oldest lines in the game, established only a few years after I started the company. That's why my Headquarter resides at Klein Eichenmünster. The line is part of a larger westcoast route, and always has been electrified. This is why still in 1962 there are many old coaches and trains on the track... But here we go.

An Electric Six fan are you?

Very nice screenshots, I like the recycling of old stock that you do and also the realistic layouts that you create despite there being no PBS. Keep 'em coming! :D

DonRazzi, nice shots! The shot of Frankhaven is great. Looks very real. :)

Yes, you're right, some of the tiles from that durch set remind me much of LEGO-bricks (tm)...

A journey with IC 137 Hanseat

Good morning, DonRail welcomes all passengers on IC 137 Hanseat on it's journey from Freihaven to Quedlinhorst...

It's late summer 1972 and DonRail is in an era of big changes: The steam age will soon come to an end and new powerfull electric- and diesel-engines are availiable. The Hanseat-Line is one of the most important routes in the web of DonRail - and also one of the best equipped: Our train IC 137 Hanseat is pulled by a very new BR 112 and offers new air-conditioned coaches - including a wagon restaurant and a dome car. I invite you to travel allong with the train. Take a seat, sit back and relax...
Freihaven is the northern terminus in the DonRail web. While the northern and southern tracks are electrified, westbound trains are still pulled by steam locos - their days are counted.

Our first stop is Lünestadt. Keep a look at the small branch line in the north. It follows the firth till it reaches the ocean. Those steam trains are told to be replace by modern railcars very soon.
