Hi, I'm using version 4.02.176

Ok so far, in PMs and MSN i have have a few more people say that the steamers work sometimes on .169 and always on .176 with one exception. strongbow has uk lomo with us .176 patch on it and he crashed once (so far).
in the mean time Mike Laxer gave me the go ahead to let you guys have his Hudson and Niagara .. I remade the old Mikado i released and gave it a large HP boost. it looks about 10 times better with much smoother gear.
I noticed that the ingame steamers have next to no HP compaired to what should be realisic. I am not sure if i should stay realistic, or closer to Chis Sawyers Engines, realisticly at the steam to diesel transistion, it took a few E/F units to replace 1 Steamer (correct me please)
so expect a release ASAP.. i am not sure if they should be a seperater release, IE. US steam pack 1, or included in the passenger pack that is ready to release.... not to mention that amtrak 2.0 is completely ready for release but no one wanted to beta test it other then tdev417

well i think you should stay by realism ... and yeah it would be better to have a seperate steamer pack , because with your uspack ( 4 versions + hotfix ) its getting somtimes little confusing
cant wait for a release

seperate packs might be more confusing IMO.. steam pack plus steam pack updates when i release new stuff. plus us set and updates and amtrak and updates and ummm... passenger and updates.. ... you might be downloading 12 files instead of 4 now.. US set well be at 2.0 soon. i am trying to get it up to date with the HQ upgrades first. maybe i'll do 1.5 next replace all the other US packs. since i'll be 1/2 way to 2.0
edit the hot fix is gone. the next packs always replaces any hotfix.

the bog boy sits on top of an animated bogie. that is fine and dandy, looks good when moving on flat land from 2 views.. clips quite a bit on turns and diag.s....
as soon as you cross a bridge, hit a hill, make a turn.. or sometimes just change your camera angle, part of the engine goes UNDER the wheels. the bogies have to be seperate units like a DMU, it is the same problem SQ had with his US semi trucks. lomo seems to randomly pick and choose what object it wants to draw on top.
the other problem is the guy that made it never returns emails (so far), so even if we spent all the time to fix it (not saying we can), we still cant release it.
Edit: just sent another email....

I tested the steam engines, and they are fine.
If you need another beta tester, feel free to ask me (I'm looking forward to this release).

played through a quick home made scenario using these engines - seems ok (god i remembered why i dislike lomo tho - compared to TTD the AI is retarded!)
only time i had a crash was when i tried to select the trains in the scenario editor, i couldnt remember the names so basically ran my mouse down all the vehicles - when it got to the beta steamers it had obviously loaded so many images that it crashed out - anyway, im using uk version .169 - just upgraded to 1.76 (during testing) and works ok still
Hope you like the news

thanks for the info, the crash part is not good news. i actually had it happen to me once today my self. fist crash i have had myself. restarted lomo and it was fine so idk.. i'll deal with the crashing personally. but i'll still try and fix it. i hate doing shoddy work.
i am actually looking at cutting down the sprites in the train. i have 64 images for turns and CS has 32.
i guess i need to figgure out what 128 images to delete... sigh....

Old bump. i just Re-Downloaded this set, installed ona fresh lomo install. In the scenerio editor, One of the steamers crash lomo for me. I have the UK cd wit hthe american patch on it. I noticed that if I use the "no smoke versions" to build my scenerio, save it. exit lomo, put the smoking versions in (face it, the smoke ones are MUCH nicer). then load up lomo and play the scenerio, it is fine. so maybe that might help some people.

Used both the Unpatched and Patched Versions of the steamers on a UK version of Lomo before and after I installed the patch and I never had any problems with them ( explanation I used them unpatched to start with and then after the patch switched over to the patched versions and recently used them in a scenario without any issue's)
