Could it possibly be a MAN bus? I also recognized some Den Oudsten buses, but I don't think Purno's graphics shows any of those! :P

Still, I'm positive that I used Purno's graphics for this particular outcome.

This would be an "old" topic, I know, but I figured it still needs some attention! :P

Referring to the first post, what would the current situation be as far as this "so called" "eye-candy" graphics concerns? I'm aware that it doesn't seem to be a "big yeah" amongst a majority of gamers here, but in my opinion it'll add a lot of realism to the game - if there's room for it!

So...anyone? 8)

SAC wrote:Well, actually, you could say that these are what sort of started the new tram system in TTDLX/TTDPatch. Before my last absence from these forums I started my own tram project which used the monorail system, and apart from drawing the tracks, a new tunnel and some bridges, I also used one of Purno's graphics and turned it into this particular "Transrapid 09"! :P

It didn't take long until other people started to draw trams, but shortly afterwards my absence started - and when I returned awhile ago I found that there actually was a tram system project worked out. And along with that both Serbian, German, and Czech trams!
those tracks! i've been asking about those a long time ago, i really really really love those! release!! i can't recall exactly how long ago that was, but it was quite long. any chance on coding and/or releasing now?

ROFL

I'm still amazed by your interest in those tracks, just as I still believe they aren't anything to get excited about at all!!! :P

But hey, who am I to debate! If you can find anyone who wants to code them, be my guest! I have no use for them! :P

well, it's not that hard to believe, really. they look really awesome, do you have the base sprites somewhere? i'll probably open up a new topic and get someone to code them as replacement for the basic train track sprites.

awesome! :P

Had to check as I haven't used them in a loong time, but I found it all inside a folder. :P Now, to avoid confusions, is it the tracks only - on grass or without any ground layers at all? Or...?

hmm, to be honest, i don't really know. is there a possibilty of posting all sprites? it might be the most convenient option.

by the way, really love that bridge as well. :)

Hmmm, okey! Let me go grab what I have and I'll post it here in awhile! As for the bridge, that one is part of the railroad network and will be available in that set once coded! I originally draw it for a tramset, but as I then left due to RL reasons and upon returning found that a tramset had been implemented in the patch, I didn't see any reasons to toss the bridge away! So it ended up as a railroad bridge instead! :P

And it looks good in game too!

Anyway, check in a moment for an update to this post!

Edit to add///

I've attached the two .pcx-files I had that contained tramtracks and the tunnel only. I had some other .pcx-files as well, but these had bridges and other stuff referring to the tram set I had in mind at that time!

However, looking at those trams I have got me thinking that perhaps I should update them and release them! :P

ah yes, ofcourse. especially seen the fact that trams are now a common function and even more specifcally seen the fact that articulated rv's are or will be possible.

hmm, my photoshop suddenly stopped working, but i'll post those sprites later on. now only an excited coder.

Yes, I agree! And I'm convinced, (didn't take much :P ). No seriously, rather then having those graphics lying inside my folders to no use, I might do something about them. I've added them to my "ToDo" list!

As for coding, I know nada about that - although Lakie did a great job explaining it - but as I left I haven't exactly kept myself updated. But as these sprites are basically the same size and shape as the original railroad sprites, couldn't you use that "GRF-Coder" or whatever the name is? Haven't used it myself so I have no idea how it works, but I think you need to request it from somewhere.

well, i won't be coding it myself, i'm not equipped to look at numbers and understand something. i usually tend to understand things quite badly anyway, so... i'll probably end up offering Aegir all my Satyricon cd's to get them coded, but we'll get it done. i'm certain.

anyway, here's your sprites (photoshop suddenly decided to start working again):

The last one, (the one after "2380"), shouldn't be there. It's a test tunnel only. All the other parts of the tunnel are there though. :P

Now, to get back to topic; the eye candy graphics?

Anyone?

SAC: Eye candy graphics? yes! Of course it needs a new patch feature, but it'll look good in the game.

Astath: you know, I'm a coder. You don't have to offer/lose your cds, if I will do the coding :)

Yes, and hopefully it'll be! :P

On another note, has this been moved? I could swear I posted this inside the "Suggestion Area" way back!!!

If not, could a mod please move this to the proper area as this is a suggestion rather then a graphics thread - despite some OT inputs?

hmm, that sounds like a nice suggestion. i'm quite fnd of my cd's, really. i'll contact you in a later stadium.

what?
Anyway, I coded these tracks. Curretly they replace the normal rails. Just a word and I'll change it to replace the monorail if it's not ok as it is now.

I could try that if you would like to.. Will be my first coded thingy, and I think it's not too difficult. :)

brilliance! thanks mate. :) alright, later on i´ll get ´round with SAC and update some of the graphics, and we could release this sometime.
