I usually build two engines per train for good trains and for my normal passenger trains I am just very patient.

I've been experimenting with a no industry map - i made it to have lots of large towns in each corner, and a group of large towns in the centre. It can be quite hard getting a route going, but they do make lots of money. I'll post it maybe, i gotta go to work soon so i can't be bothered looking for it.

Mostly I make Scenario's without Industry, the only thing you'll have is small towns and roads between them (to cover expensive road-building for busses). Play these at hard and see to survive for 10-15 years. After then the towns will grow and more industry will be available.

Well, here is the "no-industry" scenario - its pretty easy, i'm a lazy scenario builder.

Be warned, industries will pop up (sometimes in the middle of a proposed railway line :? ), but it takes willpower to resist the urge to use the industries (you could always delete them io the scenario editor)

Note if you download this it is at your own risk and I will not be held liable for any damages and stuff. It requires TTD Patch alpha 19 i think, but none of the new graphics sets, so you shouldn't have a problem there. In fact, you should have no problems at all.

I started one too, with 30 big towns and all of them have banks
Those industries are damned annoying, I wonder if you could shut them off

I know it's a lot of work for the lazy scenario builders among us, but if you roughen your land like I did in the example, there will be no industries popping up, because they will only be build on flat land. I do this myself all the time. 8)
