Combine the 3d-kind-of-view of the 3rd one with the more-detailed-view of the 4th one. The 4th one looks too much 2d from the middle to the top.

I changed the windows and the colours so it looks more like the one in the video.
With these changes I think it looks more 3D too.

it looks flat because, while the top is clearly a regular hexagon, the windows on the two angled sides we can see stop halfway up rather than continuing to the top like the ones on the side facing us.

This is my newest sky city i improved the roof
It's not a regular hexagon anymore and the last time i forgot to renew the glass on the inside (what you can see when you look trough the roof)
so i've did that too.
Those red dots on the roof suppose to be flashing lights.

I think I made some progress since the 11th of Februari.
I started as a person that only can modify someone elses hard work and couldn't make grf's.
(the first picture of this topic.)
To the person that I am now, I made my first .grf today!
(I made one yesterday but that one was yust editing the trg1r.grf.)
This is not a masterwork but I think it's not so bad for my first grf.
I cant make buildings of 2x2 squares yet, I think that's gonna take some more time.
But enough talking: here it is:
I think I'll better remove the trees because they don't stand on the right square.
If you have suggestions for improvements I would like to hear them.
I'll take it as positive critic.

I must say that the second one looks better IMO, but I see you made a good start here.
Keep up the good job.

here is an other one.
It replaces 2 buildings.
one is a Skyscraper and the other is a casino with flashing lights and a limo (or something that looks like it

) in the front.

Are the rooms of the casino not a bit thin?

Also, the bottom floor should not have windows because they want you to gamble as much as possible. If you have windows, you can see the sun go across the sky, but if there's only artificial lightning you feel that time doesn't pass, so you keep on gambling.

I fixed many things and if you think there is something that I can change to make it more look like the one in the video I would like to know.
This is my 4th try.

That is good, apart from th ecranes and stuff. Take a look at the other buildings already in OTTD. When they're built, in the different stages, the cranes and diggers are in
different places, where as yours are in the same position. Try moving them around, and to the side.

uhm
the sky city building is actually quite nice, but the scale is horribly off... it's suppose to be about a kilometer high, which can't be done in ottd (nor would you want to

)

I know and, the builldings surface should be like 8X8 squares if you want it to be look like reality with the other buildings because that are 'just' skyscrapers and flats.

I'm not so sure about the roof, but the rest looks good.

Heliports are normally adorned with a white circle with large, white, capital letter H in the middle. This is so that helicopter pilots suffer no misunderstandings about which parts of a structure can bear the load of the helicopter. (:

I made an other one, based on the sky city i drewed before, but with an improved roof and the building has an othe shape so it fits on 1 square.
I cant get the other sky city working on 2X2 squares yet

It replaces the spikebuilding (tall office block) because thats the most ugly building on this topic (or this site).

I like your buildings, but I think they look a too smooth. Check the original buildings to see how the wall all seem to have some kind of texture whereas yours are perfectly smooth.
I personally think you best try at skycity was the bottom 3 pictures in "sky_city_5th_try_393.png"
And while I'm at it, they also look too flashy. Both blue office buildings are nice, but the blue you use is too strong IMO, they don't blend in with the rest of the original buildings.
Other than that, the geometry is getting really good! Very nice!
