jupp.. xeryus sis right...

but i like the idea with the corridors though...
if i could get it in a grf file and get it to work with the game then it would be great ^-^

here is how it looks atm
Image

somehow it looks weird with the grases cut off (for me)

@Born Acorn
well that wasn the number i needed but thanks ^-^
i got it to work...

well i think i'll put the binaries and the patch tomorrow up so everyone can test it... even thought it still has some bugs...

Edit:
oh i didnt see you post rabbit.. sorry...

well i thought about that... but... where should i place the depot then ?!...

Do I count 5 runways? what is the fifth for if over 4 are for take off/landing

Posted: 21 Feb 2006 19:15
by cybersam
well the fifth one is if you have a real traffic on your airport you cant have 2 planes takeoff at the same time... ^-^

well i did this cous for me i had some probs with the international airport having 15-20 planes waiting for land and 10 waiting for takeoff...
with this i dont have any problems with so many planes...

i still didnt get the fifth runway to wrok properly though (the 2nd takeoff runway) i'm still working on it...

Where u get to build it how YOU like.
Cause if u gave me an airport with 10 runways i still will endup with needing a bigger one
Now I like that idea. Someone should make this. You could have a bar for it and evreything. Also, when will anyone make diagonal runways?

It's just an idea, but if you put some warehouses and cranes from the harbour set on the open spaces?

I'm talking about these things:

It would be pointless to add new graphics, and especially dock tiles.

cybersam, just place the upper depot where it is, only it has two exits. The only problem is that you have to remove an airport building to make way for the plane's exit path. For the lower depot, you would have to move it one tile south (or is it east?).

cybersam: you could place the landing strips one tile to the north west to make it at least a bit more compact.

RSpeed: warehouses are a good idea, if they fit their surroundings. Cranes on the other hand have nothing to do with airports.

The road depot sprites could be bodged on as decent warehouses, without any new graphics coding or graphics required.

Just a suggestion...

It's just a suggestion but I think the best time for that airport is the 1970's maybe 1980's.

And maybe this airport can be avalible arround 2000?
It's a little smaller (12X8) but I thing in a few days I got a bigger one, like
14X14 or something.

btw. Damn, that terminal was difficult.

Nice graphic, but not very practical. Your embarkation pads on the nearside (as we view it), cannot taxi except via other pads or the runway. Also, no aircraft depot.

But yes, the terminal is rather pretty.

The airport looks good IMHO, but you may want to relocate those runways so trains don't block one while taxiing.

Since when are trains taxiing? :P

It's probably planes

Your graphics could be included in a grf somehow, but for the game, we don't need any new graphics, and they probably wouldn't get implemented anyway.

These are the sprites we can use, the games originals.

Is there a separate helipad graphic for the helipads on International airports?

Im thinking of putting together a 4x5 Small airport to upgrade/replace Small airports to something useful in late era.

Current thought:

Code: Select all

BHWR
BPTR
PPTR
TTTR
hhWR

where B=Building, P=loadingPad, h=helipad, T=taxiway, R=runway, H=hangar, W=waiting area off taxiway for departing/arriving aircraft.
This would represent some modern city airports, and gives a little more capacity than a small airport (with quicker taxiing), and two direct-land helipads. It would class as a small airport for aircraft restrictions.

I think I could program the finite-state machine for this, so it may appear soon. :) (It would give me a break from landscape generators too!)

Can someone good with graphics put together a mockup of this arrangement?

Yes.

I'm not aware of any GRF-method for changing it, though. (Does Action A work? Should that be documented?)

The graphic used for that helipad is #31 in openttd.grf.
As for changinig it... I really do not know

RSpeed: Great airport, but do you think that it fits with the feel of TTD and Open TTD? I mean, I love it, but it doesn't... go...

Please don't take this as critiscism, but a suggestion. It's a great work, and I appreciate the fact that it was difficult. I woudln't be able to make that, and I like making those sorts of things.

I spotted a minor flaw, so it is now:

Current thought:

Code: Select all

BTWR
BTPR
hTPR
hTPR
HTWR

where B=Building, P=loadingPad, h=helipad, T=taxiway, R=runway, H=hangar, W=waiting area off taxiway for departing/arriving aircraft.
Ive knocked up a mockup below. Thoughts???
