Okay, here is an addon GRF for the AU Set, that should add a passenger coach and mail van into the set from 1921.

I haven't integrated it into the main AU grf, because... well, it's not my code, and it's rather messy, so this GRF will remain seperate until WH gets back. Please note that it is windows version only, I will release a DOS version if someone could share the info?

Simply place this GRF below the AU Set grf in your newgrfw.cfg, and play as normal.

Graphics by Coalroads, code by Raichase.

EDIT: Please report any bugs you can find. Yes, I know it doesn't line up with the loco in the depot window, I think that has something to do with how the AU Set was coded.

Note that there is code in there for the next two coaches, but they are not included yet, as I only got one sprite set today, and the other ones are not finished yet ;)

I assume you have a Windows-paletted PCX, right?

Code: Select all

grfcodec -em 1 filename.grf

It's good to see the Ausset finally coming to life!
Are you eventually going to add all the trains originally intended - such as the Tangara and M-sets. Also, more locomotives in the new blue-ellow livery please.

BTW, did you know this tracking table existed?

er this thread has been dead for 18 months, I don't think it's "coming to life" I know that Whitehand is working on the NSW Set or something like that.

yeah he is working on the NSWset as there wasnt enough stuff from other states. That was the tracking table, but has been abandoned because it wasnt being updated properly. whitehand now has his own one that he manages.

There's a new release on the way, don't worry about that. I'm dreaming of a white christmas, pretty much. Or a NSW Set christmas, anyway.

I tested both Lachie's original taster release and Raische's passenger coach add-on in a recent OpenTTD nightly, and everything works in all climates. There is a sprite alignment issue with Raische's coaches in the depot construction window, but it displays correctly on the rails when in use. I did nothing special, I only loaded the NewGRF from the main menu settings and started a new game. Are you using any other NewGRFs? If so, you may want to load Ausset before any other trains and see if that resolves your issue. Otherwise, you should upload a save game here so somebody can take a look at it.

I don't know what's changed (if anything) about the Windows 8 shared directory system, so I'm going to suggest you place it in the local OpenTTD "newgrf" subdirectory. For example, if you installed OpenTTD at c:\Program Files\OpenTTD, then there should be a \newgrf directory under that. You can open the files in the .zip archive directly there, you can create a folder to put them in, or you can bundle them in a .tar archive (OpenTTD cannot read files inside a .zip archive).

If Windows 8 hasn't changed the shared directory system, and it's still the same as Windows 7 and Vista, then you may prefer to place them in c:\users\<username>\Documents\OpenTTD\newgrf
