i can agree: you are an asshole. and please stop polluting this topic with your nonsense.
Astath, back down man, thats a bit harsh. It's not your place to comment. Whilst I don't agree with how Minime responded to Oskar, I also agree with Minime about the tone of Oskars post was a bit condescending and rude.
Now, there will be no more of this off-topic, minime, if you have coding issues, you may want to make a new theread about it. If not only to avoid more feather ruffling, but it avoids folks like astath getting excited because there is a new post here

Hmm, even cargo stations:
-edit-
see next MBs post below \/
-edit-
I hope Michael doesn't include the Depot fixed in the newstation set because this could make A LOT problem with other sets.

Yeah, seems you linked to a "temporary" pic ("scr159"). Possibly, you meant kind of this one:
Animated cranes for piece goods, containers, wood, wood products and bricks.
Oskar, could you please remove the broken link given above? There´s no use in watching a 404 in action. Thanks. - No Problem

Stations loading / First Class

From time to time the New Stations do some sort of 'blinking' - one moment the platforms are full of eager passengers, the next they're emtpy. I suspect this is because the fullness of the stations is determined by the number of passengers, or in the absence of those by the amount of mail/goods/whatever - meaning that when my station is full of mail (which I almost never succeed in transporting away efficiently

) but a train is picking up the very last passengers inside the station, suddenly the platforms are full again, because of all the mail (or should I say spam

); and the next moment, a handful of new passengers arrives, making the platforms seem almost empty again.
Sorry for my long story - I hope it's still understandable.
And then one other thing: has anybody ever considered replacing mail with First Class Passengers? Normal passengers could be renamed Second Class - that would make modern trains look a lot more realistic. I don't know about Germany, but in the Netherlands the very last mail trains were taken out of service a few years ago, and there weren't that much anyway before. I know in earlier years mail is very important; it might require a lot of work to make mail be replaced by first class passengers somewhere around 1960. But I think mail production and 'consumption' is quite equal to first class passengers. Any thoughts?

Yeah. I noticed that as well but I suppose this is only happening in the last couple of alphas. Could anyone confirm that?
As you said, this "glitch" seems to occur when all passengers have been loaded but there are still lots of other cargo (e.g. mail) at that same station. In that case, the max number of passengers is falsely shown and reset to zero if new passengers arrive or the train is leaving that station.
At least that´s my observations so far.

This would imply a number of modifications, e.g. to town buildings.

I thought replacing the word 'mail' by 'first class pass.' would do the trick - it's things like Offices producing mail and business travellers; small towns don't accept mail, and they don't accept first class passengers either. I don't really see the difference, and would have hoped the only work would be to restyle mail wagons into passenger wagons. (Although I fear 1st class wagons don't look different enough from 2nd class...)

I can confirm seeing this bug, as well as a VERY unusual one with the station buildings vanishing and leaving a big black hole in TTD where they were. This happens to *some* non-track tile stations as well as stations on platforms. I'll muck around further to see which ones do it, but it *seems* like Nottingham onwards.

I have noticed the same thing with Nottingham. I guess it has something to do with the amount of PAX waiting at the station. I had some with more than 10000, and that's where it happened. I get either a big black whole, or some random colours and lines, and this strange ZZZZ sprite everywhere... Happens BTW in the track-tile stations. I haven't tried the non-track-tiles yet...

I do not know, is my problem is related to described above, but sometimes I have vertical lines of random colours

In what patch version(s) does this occur? Could you probably test this back with older patch versions?
I just don´t think that was happening when "platforms" or "small station buildings" have been introduced for alpha23 resp. alpha46.

Maybe it has something todo with irregular stations although in general I haven't touched that.
Michael: Does that station tries to get somehow the full station size/length/tracks?
When the error happens, is the far north corner a station tile?

I don´t think so. AFAIK, it happens with every configuration.

You mean, p=0, c=0? Yes, at least in my test games. However, I didn´t test other configurations yet.

I did not test, but I think that it started to happen not so long ago.

I am now in the year 2009 in my game, and the BR403(ICE-3) and the BR182 are still not available. The "DB Transrapid 09 Mail van" is available.
My savegame and config is included in the zip file. 2 screenshots for making make "problem" clear enough.

Turn off the incompatible train set that overwrites DBSetXL vehicles. It's the one providing the "DSW" vehicles.

AFAIK, there has been an update to that set which uses some previously unused DBXL veh-IDs. You should search for that version.
